Αναμένεται σύντομα να διατεθεί και στην Κινεζική αγορά -μετά το λανσάρισμά του στην Ινδία αρχικά-.
Η ανακοίνωση έγινε από τον Product Manager της Xiaomi στα -πλαίσια του MWC 2018- και σύμφωνα
με τα όσα ανέφερε το λανσάρισμα θα ξεκινήσει στις 16 Μαρτίου!​

Η συσκευή έχει ήδη περάσει από την ΤΕΝΑΑ (Κινεζική Επιτροπή Πιστοποίησης) και σε αυτές βλέπουμε
το Redmi Note 5 Pro (της Ινδίας), να παίρνει πιστοποίηση ως Redmi Note 5 - για την αγορά της Κίνας
προφανώς. Σύμφωνα με την καταχώρηση, το Redmi Note 5 θα διαθέτει FHD+ οθόνη 5,99 ιντσών, το
Snapdragon 636 SoC + Adreno 509 GPU στα ενδότερα, μαζί με 4GB RAM + 64GB αποθηκευτικού
χώρου, ενώ δεν αποκλείεται να δούμε και ακόμα πιο ισχυρή έκδοση με 6GB RAM!

Όλα δείχνουν οτι θα είναι το πρώτο μοντέλο της εταιρίας που θα βασίζεται στο Android 8.1 Oreo, ενώ
θα έχει διπλή κάμερα στα 12MP+8MP (σύμφωνα με την ΤΕΝΑΑ) και μία ακόμα selfie κάμερα μπροστά
στα 8MP, ενώ θα συνοδεύεται από μπαταρία 3900 mAh.
