Sony has unveiled its new flagship OLED TV for 2021, namely the Master Series BRAVIA A90J. The Sony A90J will be available in three screen sizes: 55 inches, 65 inches and a massive 83 inches.

Key features include 4K resolution, brighter OLED panel thanks to aluminium sheet lamination (marketed as XR OLED Contrast Pro), new BRAVIA XR cognitive processor, HDMI 2.1 support (including 4K@120Hz, ALLM, VRR & eARC), XR Motion Clarity (120Hz black frame insertion), TV-led Dolby Vision, inbuilt BRAVIA Core streaming service and Google TV.

Sony has announced its 2021 lineup of LED LCD TVs, including the Z9J Master Series 8K LED TV, as well as the X95J & X90J 4K LED televisions.

Key features include:
full-array local dimming with XR Contrast Booster,
new BRAVIA XR cognitive processor,
HDMI 2.1 support (including 4K@120Hz, ALLM, VRR & eARC),
XR Motion Clarity (black zonal insertion),
TV-led Dolby Vision,
Acoustic Multi-Audio sound,
inbuilt BRAVIA Core streaming service
and Google TV.

When we asked Sony whether they plan to introduce Mini LED TVs, this is their official response: "We are monitoring trends in technology and market demand. We refrain from commenting on our future plan."

Established US retailer B&H Photo Video has published the pre-order prices for the Sony A90J Master Series 4K OLED TV, and the 83-inch BRAVIA A90J came in more affordable than initially thought. Are you tempted? (assuming prices are accurate of course)

We also discuss the impact of Sony's pricing on LG's 83-inch C1 OLED which is not equipped with the brighter OLED Evo panel technology.

The Sony A90J Master Series OLED TV has been shown to achieve 1300 nits of peak brightness on a 10% window at a showcase event held in China.

We discuss the implications, including the likelihood that the Sony A90J is using the new brighter OLED panel from LG Display, as well as a metallic heatsink to achieve this unprecedented level of peak brightness from a consumer OLED, potentially allowing for display of 1000-nit content without tone-mapping.

The BRAVIA A90J sample measured at the trade show was the 65-inch Sony 65A90J.

Οπότε έχει και το νέο Evo panel της LG και το μεταλλικό heatsink στην πλάτη της Panasonic. Αν πάλι δεν έχει προβλήματα με το hdmi 2.1 (VRR,ALLM πάλι με update !!

) ίσως βρήκαμε την καλύτερη oled για το 2021.

Sony USA has published the full specifications for the A90J Master Series OLED, and judging from the annual energy consumption figures, the TV will be using the new, more efficient OLED panel from LG Display, which is capable of higher peak brightness without increasing the risk of OLED burn-in.

The implementation of an aluminium lamination for heat dissipation on the Sony A90J will also allow for higher peak brightness without increasing the risk of OLED screenburn.

2 slots hdmi 2.1 θα έχουν οι A9J (3&4), ελπίζω να μην χρειάζεται να θυσιάσει κάποιος τη μία για eArc, γιατί δεν κάνει η TV για εκείνους με 2 κονσόλες(ή PC) και soundbar ή ενισχυτή δίχως hdmi 2.1 inputs.
