We crowned the best TV of 2021 in our annual TV shootout where the LG G1, the Panasonic JZ2000, the Philips OLED+936, the Samsung QN95A & the Sony A90J were compared vs a Sony BVM-X300 reference mastering monitor.

All competing TVs were 55 inches in screen size, and were calibrated in SDR and HDR modes to the common standards used within the film and broadcast industry, perceptually matched to the Sony X300.
Thanks to Mr Maciej Koper who flew in from Poland to help with the calibrations.

All the TVs were masked, and their positions switched on shootout day, so the three calibrator judges (including Mr James Willmott who is a THX-certified video calibrator) didn't know which TV was which when scoring different picture attributes.

Here are the results:

Best Home Cinema TV: Panasonic JZ2000
Best Living Room TV: Sony A90J
Best Gaming TV: LG G1
Best TV of 2021: Sony A90J

Περί της αναβάθμισης για τις OLED τηλεοράσεις από την Panasonic για το 2021, με υποστήριξη VRR σε 4K και 120 Hz, η οποία έγινε προσφάτως διαθέσιμη

Panasonic has rolled out a new firmware update to add full-resolution 4K 120Hz with VRR on its JZ series of 2021 OLED TVs, as well as JX940 & above LED LCDs. The firmware version is 3.124, making these Panasonics the first TVs with Mediatek HDMI 2.1 SoC we've tested that can resolve full 4K 120Hz resolution together with VRR, beating the Sony X900H (also marketed as the XH90 in the UK/EU) and the Philips 806.
