Without compromise to design or audio specification, the Spendor SP2/3E demonstrates the same silky smooth, neutral sound which has made it's big brother, the SP1/2E such a favourite with professionals and music aficionados the world over. Housed in a more compact enclosure, the SP2/3E is capable of dealing with the kind of demanding and revealing programme material that often defeats lesser loudspeakers. As with all Spendor models, the beauty and true virtue of the SP2/3E is in what it doesn't do, such as add unnecessary distortions, colourations and dynamic inequalities which detract from the listening experience.

3D linear flow reflex​

It has often been said that a perfect loudspeaker will have no sound of its own, and no 'sound' to describe. The Spendor S9e gets close to this ideal. Its substantial cabinet houses a sophisticated 220mm Spendor bass drive unit with an incredibly light rigid Kevlar® composite cone, dual suspension, cast magnesium alloy chassis and a massive fully vented all black magnet/coil motor system. The special Spendor 140mm midrange unit is in its own sealed enclosure with aerodynamically profiled rebates to ensure that no reflections or disturbances will impair the sound. High frequencies are handles by an advanced 27mm soft dome tweeter which produces even detailed sound over a wide deep listening area. The S9e is highly efficient (90dB) and easy to drive. Our 3D linear flow port ensures that the bass will always remain even and controlled and, if necessary, the cabinet can be placed close to a wall. If we tried to describe the capabilities of the S9e we would choose words like 'air', 'depth', 'transparent', 'focus', and 'awesome'. Listen and you will understand.

S3/52 way stand or bookshelf loudspeaker

For over two decades Spendor was licensed to manufacture the legendary LS3/5a BBC mini-monitor loudspeaker. It became an international reference standard. In 1998 when Spendor learned that manufacture of the LS3/5a drive units was to cease, we decided to develop our own 140mm (5inch) bass-midrange drive unit using modern materials and technology. Combining this with a small 20mm Vifa soft dome tweeter, new crossover engineering and a more up-to-date look we created the Spendor S3/5. Many discerning listeners consider it to be the most transparent and truly musical mini-loudspeaker they have ever heard and the S3/5 has won many awards.​

S3/5se2 way stand or bookshelf loudspeaker The new Spendor S3/5se is an advanced version of the S3/5. It maintains the fundamental objectives of the original LS3/5a and S3/5 while raising the sound quality and technical performance to a new level of refinement. To maintain the 'BBC Sound' the S3/5se has a thin walled heavily damped cabinet and our special Spendor 140mm bass-midrange drive unit. The S3/5se incorporates a high performance 19mm soft dome Spendor-Scanspeak tweeter and a new crossover network. The crossover features the same topology and engineering as our latest Spendor 'S' series loudspeakers
The new S3/5se offers even better sound integration, more even frequency response through the critical mid-band, improved tonal balance and significantly better power handling. Subtle improvements to the off-axis energy output allow the S3/5se to deliver its beautifully open and realistic sound in a wider variety of listening environments.

The S3/5 and S3/5se both present an easy to drive 8 ohm load for compatibility with a wide range of solid state and tube amplifiers, calibrated and matched to broadcast reference standards + 1.0dB.
