βαλε το dvd με το λειτουργικο που εχεις τωρα στα mac σου, κανε boot απ αυτο και μετα disk utility kai repair disk.

μπορει να παει κατι στραβα και να μεινει ο μακ μαυρος ?

δεν εχω ξανακανει boot απο cd ουτε καν ξερω πως ...
θα με ρωτησει θα καει μονο του boot απ το cd ?

( 640 gb HDD 7.200 rpm 87gb free )

λετε να ναι hardware προβλημα ?

I dropped my lacie and now i'm having loads of problems.
i can't mount the hard drive on my mac but after hours of trying managed to get it to show up in disk utility and am now repairing it but i find it odd that while it says that it's "verifying and repairing volume" no message appears along the way... doesn't it usually let you know what errors it is finding and all that?
is there a chance that although the repair is running it's actually not doing anything ?

does it sound likee normal behaviour to you.

if it matters the external hd has 500gb and i've used 450gb

Two things:
1) 450GB takes forever to catalog, so don't expect it to finish in less than 30 minutes.
2) Sometimes the file system has funky issues that cause a repair utility to hang at one spot and not make any progress.

You should know by now (more than 2 hours) if it is making any progress. If not, give up. Power off the drive, and try to quit Disk Utility. If it doesn't respond (that's what I am betting), then force quit DU.

Next, I would suggest you verify instead of repair. That usually doesn't cause as much damage when you force quit. If it shows issues, repair. If it hangs for more than 20 minutes at one spot, give up and erase it or spend some hard cash on TechTool Pro, which may also fail to repair it.

αν ομως γινουν τα ιδια στον startup disk ? τοτε τι γινεται

και χρησιμοποιω 552 gb ( και του απανταει οτι 450GB takes forever to catalog )
αν κανω boot απο το dvd του snow leopard ανοιξω το disk utility πατησω repair disk και κολλησει καπου στη μια - δυο ωρες ?

επισης επιλεγω το δισκο ( WDC 640 GB WD.......) η το partiton '' Macintosh HD '' ?

είχε κανένα πρόβλημα ο σκληρός σου; αν όχι, γιατί βασανίζεσαι; Ο τύπος που κουόταρες είχε πρόβλημα με τον σκληρό δίσκο του γιατί του έπεσε κάτω, επόμενο είναι να μην λειτουργεί το repair disc.

είχε κανένα πρόβλημα ο σκληρός σου; αν όχι, γιατί βασανίζεσαι; Ο τύπος που κουόταρες είχε πρόβλημα με τον σκληρό δίσκο του γιατί του έπεσε κάτω, επόμενο είναι να μην λειτουργεί το repair disc.

φυσικο προβλημα ελπιζω να μην εχει αλλα needs to be repaired λεει
βασικα σκεφτομαι ποση ωρα θα παρει στο περιπου ( συν το οτι δεν ξερεις ποτε τι γινεται μ αυτα τα μηχανηματα οπως και να χει ) . και σου λεει μην κανεις upgrade to lion αν το verify disk δε βγει σωστο αλλα κανε repair πρωτα ... και δεν εχω ξανα bootαρει απο dvd
υπαρχει κανα video tutorial ?

οποτε μεχρι να βρω ακρη μ' αυτο αναβολη το lion . καλα μεχρι να το βαλω θα χει βγει το καινουριο ... το lion king

πως κανω force quit το disk utility οταν εχω μπουταρει απο το dvd ? ( σε περιπτωση που κολλησει ) και τι συνεπειες θα εχει ?


παιζει ρολο η χωρητικοτητα στη διαρκεια του repair ? ποση ωρα να υπολογιζω ?


οταν τελειωσει πως κανω εκκινηση απο το δισκο κανονικα ?

Με τόσες ερωτήσεις που κάνεις, με αγχώνεις...σιγά το πρόβλημα βρε φίλε μου !!
Κάνεις επανεκκίνηση με το δισκάκι, επιλέγεις το disk utility κ από εκεί κάνεις repair disk.
Επανεκκινείς με τον δίσκο σου κ τέλος.
