Slip of the tongue, or a peek into the future? One gaming supremo has been hinting at more up Apple’s televisual sleeve.
Is Apple TV poised to challenge Xbox Arcade and bring simple games to the living room?...
Greg Canessa, a former Xbox Live Arcade executive, has let slip that Apple is planning games for its TV box.
The gaming boss recently moved to PopCap, the company behind iPod’s Bejeweled game, and let slip to Wired that he’s working on several new projects, including Apple TV.
“It will be about taking the stable of franchises and games out of PopCap's studio,” he said. “Customizing the user interface and display for Zune, iPod, Apple TV, Nintendo DS, PSP”
So, was it a slip of the tongue? There’s more evidence to suggest otherwise. Canessa also mentioned he’s been working on HD titles, and there’s only one device in his list that supports HD – Apple TV.
