Samsung already used this trick on the QLED models before. The idea behind this function is that with VA panels, the viewing angles are better the harder the sub-pixels are driven. Less saturated colors are therefore controlled more brightly and to compensate for the too bright sub-pixels, other pixels are driven much less. This creates a chessboard pattern of bright and dark pixels. This is clearly visible in the photos below; on the left you can see how the pixels are controlled normally and on the right you can see how the pixels are controlled with viewing angle enhancement enabled.</em></p><p></p><p><img src="https://tweakers.net/i/ZDNfQH5YmHMcFdcYs9Oj_9x95ps=/i/2004094864.jpeg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /></p><p></p><p><em>The structure of the photos is also easy to see with your own eyes and therefore detracts from the image quality. However, if you look from a somewhat greater distance, the structure is soon less noticeable and from a distance it is no longer visible at all. However well this technique works in theory, in practice its effect is disappointing. As expected, there is no difference at all with very saturated colors, but the difference is also very small with less bright colors. If we look at the photo in the center of the test image, we only see a subtle improvement in the colors.
