I recently picked up a JVC RS1. Here are a few shots of the HD1000U we have ceiling mounted in our BR with the RS1 sitting on our bed. The HD1000U is set OOTB using the Warm/Cinema settings. The RS1 is 100% OOTB except Blightness was dropped to -1. Both were set on their lower lamp mode. I have since lowered the "color" setting on the RS1 to reduce the oversatureated colors slightly, but here's how they look OOTB.
I apologize about the shots being taken slightly off axis. My father recently picked up a new camera (Nikon D200) and wanted to come over to take some pics when he heard I was comparing the two PJs (I guess it's good to be retired
), he was standing to the side of our bed taking the shots while I was screwing around with the two PJs so that's why they are slightly off axis. He didn't necessarily get all the 'reference' material I viewed that day, but there's enough here to get a good idea what we were seeing.
The HD1000U pics are first, the RS1 pics are second.
