The company gave us an exclusive sneak preview of the three-chip DLP varieties in the Video Xtreme line: the VX-22d, VX-44d and VX-55d.
Each of these models is available with Runco’s exclusive CineWide and CineWide with AutoScope technology for reproducing 2.35 CinemaScope movies in their original glory, at full vertical screen image height—no black bars. (For more information on the 2.35 format, read this story from CE Pro.)
The products feature a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 and utilize three 16:9 SuperOnyx DMDs (Digital MicroMirror Display), combined with Runco’s Vivix II video processing solution.
They boast the same footprint and feature set as their 720p counterparts: the VX-2, VX-40 and VX-50. CinOptx lenses will be available to provide a range of throw distances. Exclusive Runco features such as AxiShift technology with a motorized horizontal and vertical lens shift system help resolve even the most challenging projector placement issues.
All Video Xtreme projectors are paired with a re-engineered version of Runco’s DHD controller, optimized for 1080p and now featuring HDMI connectivity.

MSRP of the VX-22d is $44,995, the VX-44d is $79,995 and the flagship VX-55d is $99,995 or $114,995 when equipped with the CineWide with AutoScope option and Runco’s McKinley anamorphic optics.
