Let’s welcome Uniden to the GPS navigation market with their two brand new models, named GPS532, and GPS402. Both of these devices may look familiar to you since they are both rebranded. We’re not exactly sure who the exact manufacturer is but the latest logo on it is Uniden for sure. We had another article about the one pictured above, marketed back then by CarPoint Co. Their models were called TIBO A1200, and TIBO S1000 and they looked just like what Uniden is offering today.
But don’t think of this as a negative criticism. They may have upgraded the hardware and loaded some up-to-date software. So let’s have a look at the specs:
• GPS Guided Navigation
• Simple Plug N Go (Ready to use right out of the box)
• No Subscription or Monthly Fees Required
• 240 x 320 Display Resolution
• EZ Touch Screen
• NAVTEQ Mapping Data
• 400 MHz Processor Speed
• WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) Mapping Accuracy
• SiRF III Receiver
• Multi-Screen Viewing (North Up, Map Up, 3D View)
• Turn-by-Turn Voice Instructions
• Preloaded Maps of the United States, Canada, Alaska and Hawaii
• 2 Million POI (Points of Interest)
• Portable with Rechargeable Battery
• Accessories include: Windshield mount, car charger, DC Adapter, - Lithium Ion Battery and Dash Mount Pad.
• External Antenna (Optional)
Both GPS352 and GPS402 have the exact same specs except that the first two digits of those numbers represent the screen size. So the GPS-352 has a 3.5″ screen and GPS-402 has a 4.0″ screen. GPS-352 costs $316, and GPS-402 costs $378.
