Xindak 6200 review

Hello guys. I am considering buying a Xindak 6200 integrated amplifier and there are almost no reviews of it on the internet. I came across this one, except it is in Greek and I can't understand a word. I was hoping someone can help me with translating the pluses/minuses and the conclusion of the article. I am interested in why it received 4 stars instead of 5. Thank you very much in advance.

This is the review: http://img11.imagehosting.gr/out.php/i1315616_6200r.jpg

well the particular reviewers have some issues with ratings, so dont loose your sleep over the missing star. Built quality is considered excellent, so does its sound performance. They note a lack in accurate reproduction of some instruments (piano, acoustic guitar) but nothing to worry about, voices are excellent though. Overall a great amp for the money, only minus is the design of the remote....
Although i havent heard it, it seems like a nice buy, go for it, especially if you need balanced inputs

Dear kh2ouija,

The greek audio magazines always rate a audio product according to its actual price, so it is impossible for a 800 euros item to get a 5 stars review.

As I do own this amp (in the 2007 version though, this meaning that it adopts a ''darlington'' topology, where the later versions don't) I can assure you that it represents an excellent value, having all the essential qualities, an audiophile should expect, while reproducing a recording ...

...Wide soundstage & image, no edginess - the only thing bothered is the timbre of the instruments and so-slightly compression on large orchestral recordings. It gives a slightly 'electical' feel to the acoustic guitar and slightly unusual piano interpretation. Anyway, voices sound real.

: My friend, I auditioned Xindak before and between 1800-2300 euros their higher models are a great-great choice. You should audition the amp by your self. There are also (close to this price) XTZ models including a nice DAC as far as I remember and also a plethora of used gear of the past (try to find a musical fidelity a5 instead, for about 1090 euros today at audiomarkt.de)

you should audition Xindak's 6800 model, capable of class A ability, in a higher wattage than the 6200 model, considering the impedance load of your speakers. If driving capability of an amp is an issue, check out the XTZ A100 D3 and the Xindak 6800.

Thanks for your help everyone. Indeed looking at specs this amp seems great value. My worry was that almost no one seems to have it - so it's nice to actually get some first hand owner's comments here. I am actually torn between this and the cheaper NAD 355BEE which is a very popular amp that everybody praises.

My speakers are Monitor Audio BR5 and my current amp is a Denon PMA700-AE, combination which to my (novice) ears makes for a bit overly bright / crisp sound. I'd like a bit more warmth and I'm also more fond of the speakers than of the amp, therefore the search for an amp upgrade. I still like the detail in the sound so I wouldn't want to miss that in my future amp. Listening to all kinds of music except rap/dance/electronic.

I also am a happy (actually very happy) owner of this amp.
It's not only the music quality that made me to choose it but the build quality as well. There are high quality materials such as WBT speaker connectors etc.
As for the remote, don't listen of what they say in the magazine... I like it very much! It's made of aluminum and built like a tank.

you re right, the DENON amp is the bright component here. Good amp in detail and dynamics but a tad bright. Going for the 355 is step in the right direction because the Nad is neutral and an amp with even tonality. I dont think you will get extra detail compared to the Denon. Looking for Xindak models will do the job and you will notice a significant progress in the overall sound of your system. Mayby you will find the solution to your problem in the likes of Yamaha A-S700 an amp with a very warm presentation at a very good price http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/...19540&CTID=5002300&ATRID=1010&DETYP=ATTRIBUTE. If you could spend a little more, Naim Nait 5i, Primare I21 are two models that may suit your tastes.
The only way to choose what's right for you, is auditioning.

I auditioned today the NAD 355BEE, the Xindak 6200 hybrid and the Xindak 6800 on my Monitor Audio BR5s. Based on comments and reviews I was pretty sure I'd like the NAD and that I'd probably like the 6200 even more, enough to justify the price difference :D
The NAD sounded laid back and, in my opinion, a bit too boomy. In terms of sound it seemed more like a sidegrade and not one to my taste.
The Xindak 6200 has a sweet and musical tone. Very nice but DEFINITELY not suited for heavy metal which is an important part of my regular listening.
A nice surprise was instead the Xindak 6800. It doesn't have the brightness of the Denon but can drive the speakers with a lot of punch and bite. Clearly an upgrade to keep in mind.

the 6800 you auditioned is a 2x80W/ch amp and the 6200 is at rated at 2x55W/8Ω (lab measurements included in the review you mentioned in your first post). That explains the difference in punch and drive. The 355 as I said above is dead neutral especially in the high frequencies so the lack of bite in the highs gives an impression that the bass is ovewrblown. If you want something punchy with power and slam over its rated characteristics, having always the necessary refinement and detail when needed, check out the new Creek Evo II. In my opinion it's a must-listen component.

As a happy new Creek Evo II owner, Cheers mate! I went today and auditioned Atoll IN 80, Creek Evolution 2 and Naim Nait 5i. There was no contest as to which was the best sounding amp for me. Even if the dealer was praising Naim, the Creek sounded just like I always wanted my music to sound! Strong, punchy yet detailed, relaxed and controlled. The Naim seemed to struggle real hard where the Creek played effortlessly; I think the power difference says its word here. Thank you all a bunch for your help.
