Asus Xonar HDAV - Released in Japan/UK, no US release data
This dedicated sound card theoretically supports HDMI video passthrough with a PAP/PAVP for HD audio over the same HDMI cable. Works only with ArcSoft TMT. Unfortunately, this card appears to be a failure. The current release doesn't work in Vista at all, and is very unreliable in XP. The drivers are still beta (which is annoying for a semi-released product), and the core functionality simply doesn't work. It also appears to moleste the video by increasing gamma or brightness, and there are no controls to turn this off. And it doesn't allow 24p to pass through at all. Asus had a chance to bring a real winner to market, and they screwed it up. It also appears this might be a set of hardware issues, as they are going to release new hardware when Auzentech releases their audio card. A disaster, plain and simple.
Overall Rating: 0 out of 10 - Don't even bother with this card (right now)
