This, explains Marantz, allows the projector to reconfigure a dual-aspect ratio projection screen whenever the aspect ratio of the program source changes from 16:9 to 4:3, for example.
The on-screen menu system aids in set-up, and provides calibration facilities like colour temperature and gamma adjustments. Optics are provided by Konica-Minolta, with customized colour filters are optimized to match the spectral characteristics of the 200 Watt DC SuperHighPressure lamp assembly. The colour wheel itself spins at 10,800 RPM. A specially designed Quiet Fluid Dynamic Bearing motor supplies virtually silent operation.
