Hi everyone, i am new here, i have been looking for many months now to buy a pair of good loudspeakers mainly for music :ears: but also for a bit of Home Theater. I am thinking of buying either the energy RC-50 or DALI Ikon6. I listen to some classical music such as Stravinsky, Wagner and Vivaldi but mostly i listen to hard rock/metal music :music-smiley-005: and especially more technical/complex genres such as progressive metal (e.g. Dream Theater and Symphony X) and symphonic epic metal (e.g. Nightwish and Rhapsody). I enjoy the sound of loud, crisp, clear electric guitars especially when there are 2 or 3 of them playing simultaneously along with the bass guitar, keyboards, percussion :drummer: and vocals therefore it is very important for me that the speakers are clear and detailed with good highs but not too bright, in order to separate all these sounds clearly.
I will connect the speakers to a cambridge audio 540R receiver, which i already own. I am aiming in purchasing speakers to use at a moderate sound volume because my neighbours dont appreciate my taste in music when its too loud (what do they know, right? ) but still provide me with the clarity and detail in music.
Which of the two loudspeakers do you think would be suitable for my tastes in music?
Please help...RC-50 or Ikon6...?
