I had the miserable experience of purchasing The Sony Nex- VG-20H before any of you did,in other words,I have saved you from wasting your time and money purchasing this piece of s*** camera! To begin with,I was interested in purchasing a Hi-Def camera that I could use both professionally and for fun,and I was on the verge of buying The Sony VG10,but decided to wait for The VG20,because according to The Sony Store site info,The VG20 had more features than the VG10,and I thought these features would be worth waiting for,boy were they wrong! I ordered The VG20 from The Sony Store in Fashion Valley,in SanDiego,on Nov.4th,and picked up the camera on Nov.9th.Upon first testing this camera,I noticed that when trying to manually set the white balance, shutter speed, aperture and focus,a box would appear in the viewfinder, saying that it wasn't possible to set any of these settings, and it took me several minutes after the box appeared to set these features! In other words, this camera completely jammed right out of the box! Also when pressing The AE button,a box appeared that said that the" brightness control button" would have to be set, a button that exists nowhere in the camera's menu,or on the camera! Some important features mentioned on The Sony Store site, were completely nonexistent on the camera!Such as The Sony site saying this camera has 8 white balance settings, when it only has 4,and that the camera has 5 creative control modes, when it has no creative control modes whatsoever! The lens on the camera is oversized and top heavy for the cameras body, and when zoomed out completely, has the feel of one of those lousy ,small aperture, oversized lenses from the 1970's,meant for 35mm cameras.I decided to test this camera at a bowling alley, and after 3 minutes was unable to change or set any of the major settings! It jammed again! Then, later watching the 3 minutes of footage,on my Sony Bravia Hi-def TV,I discovered the worst picture I have ever seen from a functioning camera! The bowling lanes were undefined, only a sea of squiggly lines, there was no definition at all! I am an experienced photo and video guy,so this was the camera's lousy picture quality, not my fixing the settings wrong! This camera's picture quality is worse than my standard definition outdated cameras, and way worse than my Panasonic LX5's picture quality, and my LX5 cost only 400.00!The Quality Control Guy at The Sony Factory where this camera was produced should be put on the slow boat to China, but since this camera was made in Thailand, that would not be punishment enough! After 3 days of torment trying to figure this camera out,I decided to take it back to The Sony Store in Fashion Valley for a refund. It took Sony Store Guys about 1 minute and 20 seconds to figure out by looking at the camera, that I deserved a 100% full refund for this piece of garbage camera, there was clearly no reboxing fee applied.DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CAMERA TILL SONY HAS FIXED ALL PREVALENT PROBLEMS!And when you do,make sure you purchase from a store such as The Sony Store where there will be a living, breathing cooperative human being who will see to it that you get an refund,DO NOT ORDER THIS CAMERA ONLINE....EVER!!!!!
