SMP8640 Series
Secure Media Processors

The SMP8640 family provides highly-integrated solutions for products requiring high-definition MPEG-4.10 (H.264), SMPTE 421M (VC-1), AVS, WMV9, MPEG-4.2 and MPEG-2 decoding. The Secure Media Processor architecture offers advanced content protection, supporting a wide variety of Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Conditional Access (CA) solutions.

To meet the new low-power requirements for CE products, the SMP8640 family features several standby features, including wake-on-IR, wake-on-LAN and sleep/standby with DRAM data preserved.

Incorporating flexible, advanced audio/video processing, the SMP8640 family enables cost-effective solutions for Blu-ray players/recorders, IPTV set-top boxes and digital cable set-top boxes. For high-end Blu-ray players, a direct interface to our VXP® Image Processors offers professional grade deinterlacing, scaling, 3D noise reduction, and many image enhancement features.

GF9452
12-bit Dual Channel, Dual Output
VXP® Image Processor

The GF9452 VXP® digital image processor offers two complete, independent 12-bit channels of professional grade fully adaptive deinterlacing. In addition, it includes adaptive 3D noise reduction, mosquito noise reduction, block artifact reduction, adaptive detail enhancement featuring sharpness and texture enhancement with overshoot control, and adaptive contrast enhancement.

A powerful graphics engine with multiple layers, allows for sophisticated on-screen display generation that is ideal for electronic program guides (EPG) and set-up menus.

In addition, the GF9452 is backwards compatible with system software projects developed for previous generation VXP® image processors. This enables system designers already experienced with VXP® products to greatly reduce time-to-market by re-using existing software and interfaces.
