Our settings and measurements:
To get the best image quality, we chose Filmmaker mode.
We then lowered the backlight to 17 to get a white close to 150 cd/m², then set the local dimming to Standard (High in HDR) and the contrast enhancement to Off.
Finally, on the motion compensation side, the Auto Motion Plus in Auto mode works pretty well, but we prefer the custom setting with Blur Reduction set to 8 and Vibration Reduction to 3.
Remember that in Filmmaker mode, Auto Motion Plus is disabled.

In game mode, you have to go to the image settings, then to the expert settings to change the color shade to Hot2 and choose the automatic color space to find a temperature closer to 6500 K, as well as colors a little more accurate. In HDR game, you also need to disable contrast enhancement and set the HDR tone mapping to Static.

Samsung Europe has subsequently confirmed to FlatpanelsHD that it will be part of the Q80C range and that it will feature FALD (full array local dimming) – the number of dimming zones was not disclosed.
The 98-inch Q80C for 2023 will use a VA LCD panel made by TCL CSOT. Samsung Display no longer produces LCD panels in any form.

Samsung Electronics and LG Display have resumed their negotiations for a possible white OLED (W-OLED) supply deal, TheElec has learned.
The pair are discussing LG Display potentially supplying somewhere between 200,000 to 300,000 units of W-OLED panels as the initial stock, sources said.
If LG Display begins manufacturing and supplying the panels, Samsung Electronics could launch a TV that uses these W-OLED panels next year.
The resumption of the pair’s talk has much to do with the changes in the worldwide display sector.
Samsung Electronics subsidiary Samsung Display exited its liquid crystal display (LCD) panel business last year while LG Display is reducing its overall LCD production capacity.
Samsung Electronics is now more reliant on Chinese display panel makers that are dominating the LCD sector.
Chinese panel makers have since then become less favorable towards Samsung, sources said.
Samsung, despite having launched its own OLED TVs last year that uses Samsung Display’s quantum dot OLED (QD-OLED) panels, still relies heavily on LCD panels for TVs.
Its premium brand QLED TV uses LCD panels that it adds QD film.
If Samsung procures W-OLED panels from LG Display, it can diversify its OLED TV portfolio to the mid-end.
It also gives Samsung more leverage in negotiating with Chinese panel makers in price.
LG Display may also want the deal more than ever with Samsung as last year it recorded close to 2 trillion won in operating loss and is expected to record another loss in the first quarter.

If the S90C does indeed use the 'old' panel, it is unclear whether this will apply to all units; it doesn't seem logical that Samsung Display will continue to produce two generations of QD oled panels side by side.
So it could well be that S90C models that are produced later (this year) have a different panel than our test model.
