Today we released public beta 4 of DaVinci Resolve 19 which adds further improvements to the DaVinci public beta, including the ability to live sync video from Blackmagic Design cameras. This allows H.264 proxies from the camera to sync into a DaVinci Resolve bin while the camera is recording. This means that within seconds, editors and colorists in post production facilities around the world can see media arriving in real time. Now they can start editing and grading, even while the camera continues to record. Files are live synced to Blackmagic Cloud as they are recorded, and then live synced to all DaVinci Resolve workstations that are connected to the same cloud project. All you need to do is connect to the project!
This update also adds new selection features for Blackmagic Cloud organizations, enabling you to view and switch organizations right from the project manager. This means you no longer have to log out of Blackmagic Cloud to select projects in a different organization.
For DaVinci Resolve Studio users, there is a new occlusion mask for the surface tracker so you can more clearly specify the object you want to track, while tracker modifiers in Fairlight will now default to using IntelliTrack to ensure you the best results when applying audio panning. There are also various improvements to Resolve FX film look creator to provide you with a more realistic film look in HDR mode, as well as better halation and handling of aspect ratios when using this effect.
Other improvements include a new option to select checkerboard and grey alpha viewer background in the cut and edit pages so you can quickly identify images and clips with alpha channels. New and imported projects will now default to camera originals over proxies if they are available, allowing you to grade or edit using the higher quality original footage.
There’s also support for Blackmagic RAW 4.1, improved waveform display for media with synced audio, retention of the playhead position when opening nested clips and a range of general performance and stability improvements.

Today we released public beta 5 of DaVinci Resolve 19 which adds further improvements to the DaVinci public beta, including the ability for multiview layouts in the cut page to adapt to the width of the viewer. This means the layout is optimized to display all of the sources with the minimum amount of blank space. There’s also the ability to set transition type, duration and alignment from the cut page timeline context menu, giving you faster and easier access when making these common editing decisions. In addition, cut page timelines can now show render cache activity so you are able to monitor when caching is in progress or has been completed.
This update also adds new Resolve FX film look creator options for emulating different stocks, allowing you to simulate some of your favorite film looks and adjust them to meet your creative vision. In addition, DaVinci Resolve now has the ability to retain video clip metadata when syncing audio and video files so the user can select to use either audio or video metadata to retain shot, scene and take information. Speed changes in the inspector are now keyframe aware meaning you can now add speed points to the clip and the speed of the clip playback between these keyframes can be adjusted on the timeline or using the inspector.
For DaVinci Resolve Studio, there has been a performance upgrade that allows for up to 3x faster AI performance on supported Intel Windows systems. This means you will experience faster workflows when working with AI tools such as magic mask, text based timeline editing, music remixing, dialogue separation, IntelliTrack AI and UltraNR noise reduction. Also for Studio users, there are new automatic SDR to HDR tone mapping and 2x and 4x SuperScale options when using Windows machines with supported Nvidia GPUs.

Today we announced that the final release of DaVinci Resolve 19 is now available.
DaVinci Resolve 19 is a major new update which adds new DaVinci Neural Engine AI tools, over 100 feature upgrades such as IntelliTrack AI, Ultra NR noise reduction, ColorSlice six vector grading, film look creator FX and multi source editing on the cut page. For Fusion there are new USD tools and multipoly rotoscoping tools, plus Fairlight has new Fairlight AI audio panning to video, ducker track FX and ambisonic surround sound. Blackmagic Cloud has new features that make it easy to use for large companies with multiple users collaborating on the same project at the same time. There’s also support for DaVinci Resolve Replay so you can create live action replays straight to air during live events and convert those replays into promos, highlight packages and instant social media updates.
With this update, editors can work directly with transcribed audio to find speakers and edit timeline clips. Colorists can produce rich film like tones with the ColorSlice six vector palette and produce cinematic images using the new film look creator effect which emulates photometric film processes. In Fairlight, the IntelliTrack AI can be used to track motion and automatically pan audio. VFX artists in Fusion have an expanded set of USD tools plus a new multipoly rotoscoping tool which displays all of your masks in a single list. The cut page has new broadcast replay tools for live multi camera broadcast editing, playout and replay with speed control. There’s also support for live sync with Blackmagic Cloud which uploads media into a DaVinci Resolve bin while the camera is recording so editors and colorists can start working even while the camera is rolling.
We would like to thank all of the customers that participated in the beta program, tested the software in a variety of workflows, reported bugs and helped to make DaVinci Resolve 19 even more reliable.
