Changes since 181008_0253_r13:
- New feature: BD3D is now supported in full Blu-ray menu mode too (in
addition to BD Lite mode, which was supported for BD3D before).
- Additionally, full Blu-ray menu playback engine reworked and
optimized to better handle fast forward and rewind, for various other
playback improvements, for better compatibility with some discs.
- Note: BD4K is still supported only in BD Lite mode and is not
supported in full Blu-ray menu mode (work on this is in progress).
- New feature: Office files in formats ".ppt", ".pdf", ".doc", ".docx",
".xls", "xlsx" can now be opened directly from the file browser just by
pressing ENTER on these files. A suitable application is automatically
launched to open them (and automatically installed if it is not installed
yet).
- New feature: Added the integration of the famous HiByMusic application
for playback of audio files:
- A special TV-optimized version of HiByMusic application (which can be
fully controled via RC) is installed automatically when needed.
- HuByMusic application can be launched for playback of audio files in
various ways -- via POP UP MENU / "Play with..." action, via the new
setting "Setup / Playback / Parameters / Player for audio files",
etc.
- When HiByMusic application is playing audio in background (after
exiting it via TOP MENU RC button), it can be stopped via STOP RC
button in Dune HD UI.
- New feature: DSD audio files in DSF and DFF formats can now be launched
directly from the file browser just by pressing ENTER on these files.
HiByMusic application is automatically launched to play them (and
automatically installed if it is not installed yet).
- New feature: When attempting to play SACD ISO (DSD ISO) audio files or
CUE audio playlist files, a recommendation to use HiByMusic application
is shown (with the option to directly launch the application) (after that
these files should be manually found and launched by the user inside
HiByMusic application; unfortunately, HiByMusic application does not
support direct launch-file action for these file types).
- New feature: Added a new setting "Setup / Playback / Parameters / Player
for audio files". May be helpful to use a specific player (e.g.
HiByMusic) for audio files by default (a an alternative to pressing POP
UP MENU and then choosing "Play with..." action).
- New feature: Added a new setting "Setup / Playback / Parameters / Player
for AVI files". May be helpful to use a specific player (e.g. SPMC) for
AVI files by default (a an alternative to pressing POP UP MENU and then
choosing "Play with..." action).
- New feature: AVI files are now played by default via SPMC player, to
workaround the problems with stuttering of AVI files (these problems with
AVI files stuttering are caused by low level parts of RTD1295 SDK and may
be fixed in a better way in future, but at the moment they can only be
fixed by using an external player such as SPMC). In the use of SPMC
player for AVI files is undesired, the previous behavior of using the
internal player can be chosen via "Setup / Playback / Parameters / Player
for AVI files" setting.
- New feature: When SPMC or KODI application is running in background
(after exiting it via TOP MENU RC button), it can be stopped via STOP RC
button in Dune HD UI.
- New feature: When using internal player, RETURN RC buttons works as STOP
(except the case when TV playback is performed and RETURN button is
configured to work as "Return to previous TV channel"). Helpful when
using remote controls w/o STOP button.
- New feature: Video files with ".webm" extension can be played now
directly from file browser.
- New feature: HTTPS media streams now can be played also via M3U files and
via launch_media_url IP Control command.
- New feature: When a USB keyboard is connected, it now can be used to
enter English text in text fields in Dune HD UI.
- New feature: PHP API: IP Control commands "light_stop" and
"set_playback_state" can now be used when PHP plugin is working.
- New feature: PHP API: "update_epg" action can now used even when the main
menu is shown over the playback.
- New feature: PHP and JS API: Added support to use Widewine DRM with DASH
video streams from PHP plugins and HTML applications: the new dune_param
parameters "drm_scheme" and "drm_license_url" can be used to specify the
required Widevine DRM parameters.
- New feature: Debug dump file can now be generated not only by pressing
REW or PAUSE button 3 times in the file browser (as before), but also by
pressing POP UP MENU button, and then pressing TOP MENU buttons. Useful
when there is no REW and PAUSE buttons.
- Improvement: Debug dump files now should be more useful and contain more
complete information.
- Improvement: When Setting Reset is performed, this also resets OpenWRT
settings (previously OpenWRT settings were not reset).
- Improvement: Recovery menu now provides an option to reset OpenWRT
settings.
- Improvement: V+/V-/MUTE RC buttons now always control playback volume,
even when playback is not started yet.
- Improvement: Volume control OSD UI improved to not show unneeded UI
elements.
- Improvement: Volume control OSD UI now handles DOWN/UP buttons as
MUTE/UNMUTE actions (useful when the used remote control does not have
MUTE button) and handles LEFT/RIGHT buttons as V-/V+ actions (useful when
volume control OSD UI is triggered not by V+/V- buttons but by some other
buttons, and there is no V+/V- buttons). ENTER and RETURN can be used to
hide volume control OSD UI w/o waiting for timeout.
- Improvement: When playing DASH video streams, the last bandwidth is now
remembered to ensure more smooth playback start.
- Improvement: When playing DASH video streams, streams with errors (such
as missing segments) are now played more smoothly.
- Improvement: The initial setup wizard is improved to better handle
various conditions (such as no Internet connection).
- Improvement: When a question to search for community extensions is shown,
RETURN RC button can now be used to cancel it.
- Improvement: Various improvements and fixes for Kartina.TV application.
- Bugfix: Pause did not work in some cases.
- Bugfix: Subtitles could wrongly remain on screen for too long time.
- Bugfix: "Discrete-power-off" IR code (often used via IP Control by
various home automation systems, such as Control4 or Crestron) worked
wrongly when "Software standby" setting was used -- "Power off" action
was wrongly performed, which causes impossibility to power on the box via
IP Control.
- Bugfix: HTTP/MP4 video streams did not work in some cases.
- Bugfix: HTTP/TS video streams did not work in some cases.
- Bugfix: Wrong HDMI video mode could be configured in some rare cases.
- Bugfix: Entering a folder with a big number of ISO files could be slow in
some cases.
- Bugfix: When performing firmware upgrade, a main menu could be wrongly
shown before rebooting for a few seconds in some cases.
- Bugfix: The non-supported setting to use LEFT/RIGHT RC buttons during
playback to control volume was wrongly present in the setup menu.
