"..Delays at Dune are not related to hardware (besides Pro Ultra Model).
Hardware for all the models is ready, since October 2017. That's why Dune initially published so early dates.
They huge work for them is the software. We all expect to get same software quality and features as we had at Sigma models.
At December Dune had well working most of the elements (browser, navigation, MyCollection, settings etc), besides media players. The initial idea of Dune was to use external player application - standard one that is provided by Amlogic or Realtek. But we all know disadvantages and limitations of these apps. Kodi as a player is also not an option. Releasing such version with promiss to improve it in a few months probably would harm brand reputation. All first reviews would be rather bad.
So dune is working on own media player applications based on direct cooperation with chipset vendors. This gives a hope for new quality compared to all Ziddo/eGreat/Zappiti. But it takes time. This is also why we will get first Amlogic device, later PRO models - there are two different projects in case of video player app/extension.
I think it is worth to wait. And I think, that Dune is the only one company who is able to implement such player app, due to their big experiences with doing such things for Sigma. Other brands can only customize playback software provided by chipset vendor.
Delay of PRO Ultra model is releated to its audio part, and issues with design and integration with Android platform. That part is probably done by external company for Dune. And probably also Ziddo waits for that, from same source.."
