‛Fantastic Four’ Reboot Potential Story & Character Details Revealed

It took a while, but the Fantastic Four movie reboot looks to be moving down the tracks smoothly now. The script is finished, official casting announcements should be coming in a matter of weeks (days, maybe), and multiple outlets have now reported that award-winner Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) is attached to play literal hotshot Johnny Storm/Human Torch in the film.

The report that F4 reboot director Josh Trank wanted to reunite with Jordan (who starred in Trank’s feature debut Chronicle) originally hit the news scene some 9-10 months ago, from the time of writing this. Trank started developing the film well before then, and if new potential story details are indeed the real deal, then it makes all the more sense as to why Trank is handling this particular Marvel comic book adaptation (and why he would want to reteam with a talented youngster like Jordan).

Acting Auditions has posted a casting call for 20th Century Fox’s reboot of the Fantastic Four movie franchise, claiming that all roles – “starring, costarring and supporting roles” – are technically up for grabs right now, with the exception of The Human Torch – a role that Jordan is attached to, according to the latest trade source report. The audition notice asserts that production will begin in and around Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on February 4th, which is earlier than the March 2014 start date previously reported.

Ωραία.. εμένα οι 2 ταινίες μου αρέσανε.. ιδίως η 2η.. (και ας μην έχουν πάρει καλές βαθμολογίες.. :p )
αλλά το βασικό που μου αρέσει είναι η τετράδα κατά πρώτον! ;)

πάντως οι προηγούμενες δύο δεν μου είπαν πάρα πολλά. Ο Silver Surfer πάλι ως ήρωας και ως απεικόνιση τα έσπαγε!!!

Ε δεν ειναι και ευκολο.

Ο ανθρωπινος πυρσος ας πουμε ειχε αποδοθει πολυ σωστα στις πρωτες ταινιες.

Το Πραγμα επισης ηταν καλο οπως και η Αορατη γυναικα.

Εκει που κολλαγε η μαγια ηταν ο Μιστερ Φανταστικ που ηταν πολυ μετριος ηθοποιος αλλα και η σκηνοθεσια που ηταν να μην πω.....

Επισης ο Δρ Ντουμ εξισου κακος με τον συμμαθητη του Ριντ Ριντσαρντς.Και χωρις σοβαρο αρχικακο δεν πας πουθενα.

‛Fantastic Four’ Cast Test Update; Michael B. Jordan is Attached

There’s been several rumors about the Fantastic Four movie reboot – ranging from who’s in serious discussion to join the cast to plot details – and while you’re probably as tired of reading (and as tired as we are of reporting them) as director Josh Trank, the film will soon finalize its cast ahead of production this spring.

A handful of 20-something up and comers are reported as having been either given consideration or tested for roles in Trank’s F4, which may take its cues from the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic book continuity and make the eponymous superheroes (as a whole) younger than they are in non-Ultimate F4 comics. Those aren’t the only steps in a new direction for the F4 movie franchise that this reboot looks to take, as you may’ve heard by now.

THR is confirming a longstanding claim that Michael B. Jordan (as Johnny Storm/Human Torch) is the only actor attached to the F4 reboot currently, as a result of 20th Century Fox “exercising the option” it has on the actor following the found-footage hit Chronicle (also directed by Trank). That Jordan is a handsome and charismatic actor whose star is rapidly on the rise – thanks to his performances in films like Fruitvale Station – makes him a nice catch for the film and arguably deserving of the role, despite controversy over the “race-switching” of the Human Torch character.

Speaking of departures from the traditional F4 mythos, THR‛s Heat Vision has also been hearing that classic F4 villain Dr. Doom will again be the central antagonist in Trank’s movie reboot. The word from their insiders is that the role will be filled by a big name – a bigger name than Julian McMahon (who played Doom in director Tim Story’s F4 movies) anyway – and that the character might be gender-switched. Nothing is set in stone just yet, though, so best to wait for additional information on this topic.

Meanwhile, screen testing is ongoing for Trank’s comic book film, though some of the previously-mentioned names have been ruled out due to scheduling conflicts or related issues. The two actresses reported to have tested for Sue Storm/Invisible Woman just yesterday are Kate Mara (House of Cards) and Emmy Rossum (Shameless), while Christian Cooke (Romeo and Juliet (2013)) is reported to have recently tested for Ben Grimm/Thing. In addition, Miles Teller (That Awkward Moment) appears to still be the front-runner to play Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, as competitor Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) has moved on to other projects.

Mara has been shortlisted for the F4 reboot for several months now, whereas other previously-named starlets like Saoirse Ronan (The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) appear to be no longer in the running. Like Teller and Jordan, Mara in particular is someone who’s arguably “earned” the right to headline a superhero franchise, after doing fine character work on shows like House of Cards and American Horror Story, in addition to films like 127 Hours and 10 Years.

Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Miles Teller are The Fantastic Four!

Twentieth Century Fox has cast Marvel's First Family! Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Miles Teller are Josh Trank's The Fantastic Four. The Wrap broke the news, confirming months of rumors surrounding the involvement of Jordan, Mara and Teller and were the first to name Jamie Bell as the studio's choice for Ben Grimm, aka The Thing. Bell seems to be the only one without an official offer on the table, but it is very much expected that he will be confirmed by the studio shortly.

Teller will play Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Mara, Sue Storm (The Invisible Woman), Jordan, Johnny Storm (The Human Torch) and Bell (likely through motion-capture), Ben Grimm (The Thing). Previous reports have suggested that Trank's iteration of the story also involves Dr. Victor Von Doom, so expect more casting on The Fantastic Four very soon.

Filming on The Fantastic Four is expected to begin in Baton Rouge this March. Josh Trank will direct the big screen adaptation, which is currently set for release on June 19, 2015​.

Producer Matthew Vaughn Comments on The Fantastic Four

"It's a total reboot"

With a production set to begin next month, and the cast finally assembled, the pieces are starting to fall into place for Fox's upcoming reboot of The Fantastic Four, but there are still a few mysteries. Many rumors have pointed to radical alterations of the characters' origins, and while the filmmakers have debunked some of them, fans remain skeptical about what lies ahead for the future of the franchise. Get ready for more fuel on that fire though, as producer Matthew Vaughn had some interesting words about the film with Empire magazine (thanks to SuperHeroHype Forums user 'TheOneWhoKnocks' for the quote).

"It's a total reboot, that's for sure," he told the publication. "It's got nothing to do with the other bloody ones. It's not stretchy guy and a guy running around in rock that looks like it's made polystyrene. And its not a comedy."
