Τα συμπεράσματά μας (και το πόσο απαράδεκτη είναι η Cyberlink) επιβεβαιώνονται σιγά σιγά και από άλλους που ψάχνουν το θέμα:
Yes, this is correct regarding DTS-HD 7.1 in PDVD8 - the only reason we were tricked into thinking it was actually working is because there is a bug which makes TrueTheater Surround be applied, even with 'No Effect' set when in 8-speaker mode.
With PDVD9, the bug is fixed, hence we only get DTS-HD MA 7.1 in 5.1, so yes it proves that we were never getting full 7.1 in the first place for DTS-HD MA 7.1 tracks.
I had the Dolby demo disc a while ago and it had a TrueHD 7.1 channel check, and all channels were discrete with PDVD8, and its the same now with PDVD9, so TrueHD is all fine... LPCM is fine too (3:10 to Yuma). So the fact that TrueHD worked in 7.1 at the time properly made me think that DTS-HD MA 7.1 was decoding in all 8 channels properly too.
So it's only damn DTS-HD MA 7.1 which PDVD9 doesn't decode, likely because it's still only playing the 1.5mb core.
Gee, if Cyberlink knew about this from when they launched PDVD8 a year ago, that is a VERY dishonest business move to advertise DTS-HD MA support (with a new logo shown in the player and all!), yet really be no different from PDVD7.
I would not be suprised if they deliberately put the bug in PDVD8 which made TrueTheater Surround always enabled to make it "appear" to us that it decoded all 8 channels in DTS-HD MA 7.1 tracks, just to make more of us buy the software
