Πρώτα από όλα, thanks Jim.
Αυτά αν τα ρίξω με usbstick στο PS3 δεν παίζουν (φυσικά αφού δεν υποστηρίζει .mkv). Αν τα μετατρέψω σε mpg (που να είναι συμβατό με PS3) χάνεται το HiDef?
(Μάλλον ναι μια και κάθε αλλαγή είναι και μια συμπίεση...)
Σωστά ή όχι ?

Μπορείς να τα κάνεις .mpg απλά θα πιάνουν πολύ περισσότερο χώρο και είναι πολύ δύσκολο να κρατήσεις την original quality...Πρόσεχε όμως μήπως το usb transfer rate δεν φτάνει για να περάσει το clip γιατί είχα και εγώ το ίδιο πρόβλημα.......

παιδια το mkv δεν ειναι codec αλλά encapsulation(Container) - αρα μπορεί να αλλαχτεί σε άλλο encapsulation χωρις επιρροή των ενσωματωμένων δεδομένων.

Αρκεί να βρείτε τον converter που υποστηρίζει το encapsulation που υποστηρίζει η συσκευή σας.

Initially the uptake of the format was low, it mainly competed with OGM on Anime scene, due to both formats' seamless support for multiple audio tracks and embedded subtitle tracks. In recent years however Matroska sees wider use due to the "release scene" adopting it as a format of choice for HDTV rips of TV and next generation video discs (HD-DVD and BluRay). It usually carries H264 video, AC3/AAC/DTS (also multiple) audio tracks and sometimes subtitle tracks. Before H264, most MKV files from the above mentioned scene were holding Realvideo (RV9, RV10) encoded video tracks, which at that time was slightly superior to MPEG-4 Part 2 (DivX, XviD), especially for anime material, in combination with MP3 or Vorbis encoded audio streams and soft-subtitles.

Το USB 2.0 θεωρητικά υποστηρίζει τον HD transfer rate πρακτικά όμως εξαρτάται απο την συσκευή. Ενας εξωτερικός δίσκος ειναι σαφέστατα ´καλύτερη λύση (αλλά δεν ξερω αν αρέσει το εκάστοτε format του στο PS3.)
