I'm really interesting to buy 2 HDMI cables. One 50feet and one 40feet. I'm interesting about Tartan series because of the very low price. I prefer low price cables because at those long lengths there is a high risk to fail.
Generally ( i thing ) those are the specs of most High speed cables.
10.2 Gbps/ 340MHz - Bandwidth up to 7.5m
4.95 Gbps/ 195 MHz @ 10m/12.5m
2.25 Gbps/ 75 Mhz @ 15m/20m
Cat 2 High Speed HDMI Cable up to 7.5m
I search and i found that at 15m and with 2.25 Gbps/ 75Mhz at this length i can't have 1080p but only 1080i. Is this true? And if this is tru why they sell all those 50feet (15m) cables with Cat2 certification when this certification is valid only up to 7.5m? Please help me understand basic things. I need to know if i have big change to have 1080p at 15m with Tartan cables.Thank you.

To be clear, there isn’t a passive HDMI cable available (including the Tartan 24AWG) that has a high-speed (Category-2) certification longer than 7.5m (25’). Of course, while a successful run is still possible at lengths beyond 25’ (as the certification is more of a baseline guarantee rather than a maximum usable length), the success at any length beyond the certification would depend more on the devices being used; more specifically the output signal strength of the sending device. As there is no standard for this output signal strength, it would be difficult to predict how it will work on certain devices without actually plugging it in.
With that said, the best cable we have for this application would be the Series-1 (bonded-pair) HDMI cable. While only certified at 25’ for high-speed (Category-2), it is the longest high-speed (Category-2) certification we are aware of that exists on the market. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
