Damon and Carlton wasted no time. I transcribed this myself and I believe it to be accurate, but give a listen if you have time.
This contains vague, general info some might consider mildly spoilery.
LA X Rehash
**The operative question is what do the Flash Sideways mean? First, they don't like the term, ALT, because it implies one timeline is less real or less important than the other. They are both equally real and will reconcile in some way. By the end of the season, we will understand what the interrelation between the two timelines is.
**They reiterate that we are watching 2 distinct timelines. One is a reset (their word) in which the plane never crashed. The other is a continuation. Juliet hit the bomb, it jumped them forward in time, and they're still on the island dealing with the consequences.
**They list some differences between the two parallel timelines.
**Faraday didn't factor in everything. Setting off the bomb did more than just affect the Losties. If you step on a butterfly and it has an effect, imagine setting off a nuclear bomb on top of a butterfly. This is why the island is underwater.
**Locke was lying to Boone about going on the walkabout.
**Was Sun lying about not speaking English? Wait and see.
**The point is that in the Flashsideways, everything is up in the air. A lot more things have changed than you probably think and that's going to be the exploration of the season. The characters are essentially the same, for example Kate is still a fugitive, Jack is still a doctor, and Hurley is still a lottery winner, but it's a basic nature v nurture thing.
**While you do not need to know what happened in all the flashbacks to enjoy the sideflashes, there is an "X Factor" of subtle things in the parallel timeline. The sideflashes are like S1 in that you get to know the characters all over again.
**But what is the relation of these new characters and stories to the island itself? Why does this matter? Why should I care what's happening in these stories? What are the stakes in these stories? BE PATIENT.
**Lindeloff teases Cuse about spilling the beans about Smock on Kimmel.
What Kate Does Prehash
**We'll learn what the heck happened to Sayid in the hot tub. Was he dead? Daman ribs Cuse about always saying "dead is dead," and Cuse responds "what does it mean that Sayid is walking around? What are the consequences of throwing him in the murkey water. Clearly it would have been better if the water was clear. LOL, Damon jokes that Cuse slipped the zombie season in through the back door.
Q & A
**Long question about Walt killing animals. Somewhat dodgy answer about Walt attracted the birds, but the birds had a glass problem. My take: file Walt under midicholorian.
**Question about whether or not the numbers correspond to a specific date in 2015. No. they don't.
**More Frogurt? Yes
**Will we find out about Adam & Eve? Yes, we'll find out about Adam & Eve. They've explained all the skeletons on the show eventually.
**Black and white stones related to Jacob & MIB? Will we see the stones again? Dodgy answer.
**Did Hurley ever pay Walt the $83,000 backgammon wager? Nah.
**Groundhog day premiere a coincidence? Yes, a happy coincidence.
