Ο πασιγνωστος Greg Rogers του Widescreen Review ανεβασε το review του για τον Optoma HD81.
Το σημαντικοτερο ισως στοιχειο του review, ειναι το απογοητευτικο on/off contrast που μετρησε (μεγιστο 1840:1 με κλειστη ιριδα και χωρις πολυ φως =292 lumens! ) λογω κακου μαυρου.

Επισης εμεινε απογοητευμενος απο την ανομοιομορφια στην φωτεινοτητα οπου απο την μια ακρη της οθονης στην αλλη υπηρξε διαφορα 40% οπως και απο την απαραδεκτη αυτοματη ιριδα που κανει 2 δευτερα να κλεισει και πολυ θορυβο!
Του αρεσε η χρωματικη συμπεριφορα, η ευκρινεια, ο scaler/deinterlacer Gennum και το καλο Ansi contrast (455:1).
