What we find particularly interesting is how Samsung has managed to improve the viewing angles. This is not so much seems to be a change in the panel technology, but rather in the way the panels are controlled. The QLED TVs, namely, fit a foreign kind of dithering, in which pixels are located next to each other and to-be brighter and less bright displayed. The viewing angle of pixels 'full open' stand is in fact better than that of pixels partially pinched. Through to quarter-to control, there are more pixels with high brightness, resulting in improved viewing angles of the screen. In practice, the effect of this control hardly visible, only if you close to plain gray surface looks can clearly see that not all pixels illuminate same. A realistic viewing distance it is virtually invisible effect, though, the effective resolution is of course by off. Possibly for this reason, the TV does not always dithering mode. Depending on what is being displayed on the screen, the screen sometimes chooses to send to the panel in a traditional manner, with all the pixels so really work individually. During our test showed that the actual television to display video sources always worked in dither mode, while playing a desktop PC usually opted for the normal mode. In some cases, the TV turns off and switch to, we noticed that when playing HDR test patterns from an ultra-high definition Blu-ray disc...
...Although dithering method clearly something helps to improve viewing angles, is in our opinion a shame that you as a consumer have the choice to enable or disable this feature, the TV it always decides for himself. If you are always right screen is it - especially at smaller viewing distances - in our opinion better to have eliminated the dithering because it improves the image sharpness. Perhaps Samsung the option to enable or disable this feature manually adds later via a firmware update.
