We did a hands-on test of Samsung's The Terrace outdoor TV, and measured it to reach 1800 nits full-field at D65 white point, making it the brightest television full-screen we've come across thus far.
The Samsung Terrace is available in three screen sizes, namely 55-inch, 65-inch (tested) & 75-inch models, retailing at £4000, £5000 & £6500 respectively.
This video was graded & uploaded in HDR10, and so is best watched on a compatible HDR display.

It is indeed a VA panel (there are not two red sub-pixels, it is simply the optical filter that gives this illusion.

Our settings and measurements:
To get the best image quality, we chose Filmmaker mode.
We then lowered the Backlight to 17 to get a white close to 150 cd/m²,
then set the local attenuation to "standard" ("high" in HDR) and the contrast improvement to "Off".
Finally, on the motion compensation side, the Auto Motion Plus in Automatic mode works pretty well, but we prefer the custom setting with "Blur Reduction" on 8 and "Judder Reduction" on 3.

Remember that in Filmmaker mode, Auto Motion Plus is disabled.
In game mode, you have to go to the image settings and then to the expert settings to change the color shade on "Warm2" and choose the automatic color space to find a temperature closer to 6500 K and colors a little more accurate.

Καμία από όλες αυτές τις λύσεις βεβαίως δεν κάνει... εύχρηστο τον web browser οποιασδήποτε TV (προσωπικά είτε σε LG με magic remote, είτε samsung, είτε panasonic δεν αντέχω λεπτό web browsing μέσω της TV)

All competing TVs were 55 inches in screen size, and were calibrated in SDR and HDR modes to the common standards used within the film and broadcast industry, perceptually matched to the Sony X300.
Thanks to Mr Maciej Koper who flew in from Poland to help with the calibrations.

All the TVs were masked, and their positions switched on shootout day, so the three calibrator judges (including Mr James Willmott who is a THX-certified video calibrator) didn't know which TV was which when scoring different picture attributes.

Using our standard testing of measuring various screen window sizes, we found that the peak brightness of the AU9000 was around 275 nits across all window sizes.
This is to be expected from a set at this price point. With an ANSI measured black level of 0.071 nits we get an on/off contrast of 3878:1.
