FILM FESTIVAL 11

20 - 30 Ιανουαρίου 2011

Κάθε χρόνο τέτοια εποχή οι ανεξάρτητοι κινηματογραφιστές ζουν τη δική τους αγωνία,
αφού περιμένουν την ανακοίνωση των ταινιών που θα συμμετέχουν στο απόλυτο indie Φεστιβάλ,
"παιδί" του Robert Redford, από τα μεγαλύτερα κινηματογραφικά γεγονότα της χρονιάς, το Sundance.

Όπως και πέρσυ, που ποιος ήξερε ταινίες σαν το "Four Lions", το "Exit Through The Giftshop", το "Catfish",
το "The Kids Are Alright", το "Restrepo", το "Winter’s Bone" ή το "Animal Kingdom"
πριν να αναδειχθούν στην παγωμένη Γιούτα,
έτσι και φέτος ανακοινώθηκαν οι νέες άγνωστες σχεδόν σε όλους ακόμα συμμετοχές
που κουβαλούν τις ελπίδες μιας καριέρας κάτω από την ομπρέλα μεγάλων εταιρειών διανομής και μιας πορείας στα διεθνή
φεστιβάλ - σταθμούς της επόμενης χρονιάς.

Η διοργάνωση του Sundance (20- 30 Ιανουαρίου 2011) εξέδωσε ανακοίνωση με τις ταινίες που θα διεκδικήσουν φέτος τον τίτλο
της καλύτερης ανεξάρτητης παραγωγής,
καθώς και τα ντοκιμαντέρ που θα διαγωνιστούν στην αντίστοιχη κατηγορία.
Συνολικά, 115 φιλμ από 28 χώρες και 40 διαφορετικούς δημιουργούς επιλέχθηκαν ανάμεσα σε περισσότερες από 3.500 αιτήσεις.
90 από τις ταινίες που θα προβληθούν στο Φεστιβάλ εντός ή εκτός συναγωνισμού θα είναι παγκόσμιες πρεμιέρες.

Ανάμεσα στους τίτλους του αμερικανικού διαγωνιστικού ξεχωρίσαμε το σκηνοθετικό ντεμπούτο της Βέρα Φαρμίγκα ("Up In The Air")
σε μια ταινία με τίτλο "Higher Ground", όπου η ίδια θα πρωταγωνιστεί στο ρόλο μίας μητέρας που γίνεται μέλος
φονταμενταλιστικής κοινότητας, αναζητώντας απαντήσεις για τη ζωή,
το "Homework", μια νεανική κωμωδία με ήρωα έναν απείθαρχο μαθητή που αλλάζει φιλοσοφία εξαιτίας μιας κοπέλας
και τους Φρέντι Χάιμορ και Έμα Ρόμπερτς στο καστ,
το "Take Shelter", εξαιτίας του πολύ καλού Μάικλ Σάνον, ο οποίος θα υποδυθεί έναν πατέρα που προσπαθεί να εξηγήσει τα όνειρά του,
το "Terri", με τον Τζον Σι Ράιλι σε μια ιστορία για την περίεργη φιλία που αναπτύσσει ένας νεαρός με το σχολικό του σύμβουλο,
καθώς και το "The Ledge", με τους Τσάρλι Χάναμ, Λιβ Τάιλερ, Πάτρικ Ουίλσον και Τέρενς Χάουαρντ σε κάτι που μοιάζει με αγώνα δρόμου
ενός αστυνομικού προκειμένου να προλάβει κάποιον που ετοιμάζεται να πέσει από ένα κτίριο.
Σημειώσαμε επίσης το "Like Crazy" του Ντρέικ Ντόρεμους, με την ιστορία μιας σχέσης από απόσταση
και τους Άντον Γιέλτσιν, Φελίσιτι Τζόουνς και Τζένιφερ Λόρενς μπροστά από την κάμερα.

Για πρώτη φορά μια ελληνική ταινία ταξιδεύει στο Φεστιβάλ Sundance (Attenberg - spotlight section)

Από τις ξένες παραγωγές ενδιαφέρον παρουσιάζουν τα "Abraxas" από την Ιαπωνία, με ένα Ζεν μοναχό που μεταμορφώνεται σε χεβιματαλά μουσικό,
το μεξικάνικο "Asalto Al Cine" (The Cinema Hold Up) με μια ομάδα παιδιών που ληστεύουν ένα κινηματογράφο,
το ιταλικό "Baci Mai Dati" με ηρωίδα μια νεαρή στη Σικελία που γίνεται διάσημη όταν βγαίνει η φήμη ότι κάνει ... θαύματα,
το "Ticket To Paradise" από την Κούβα με πρωταγωνίστρια της ιστορίας μια νεαρή που το σκάει από το σπίτι της
και συναντά στην Αβάνα έναν ρόκερ
και το "Vampire" από τον Καναδά με τις Ρέιτσελ Λι Κουκ, Κέισα Κάστλ Χιουζ και Κριστίν Κρουκ σε μια ιστορία όπου ένας τύπος ψάχνει
στο internet το κορίτσι των ονείρων του.
Να μην παραλείψουμε και το ντεμπούτο του "Tyrannosaur" του Πάντι Κόνσιντάιν με θέμα τη βία.

Ανάμεσα στις εκτός συναγωνισμού ταινίες, τις παγκόσμιες πρεμιέρες και τα παράλληλα τμήματα του φεστιβάλ να αναφέρουμε
το "Cedar Rapids" με τον Εντ Χελμς,
το "Perfect Sense" με Γιούαν ΜακΓκρέγκορ και Εύα Γκριν
(ερωτική ιστορία με φόντο την εξάπλωση ενός ιού που κάνει τους ανθρώπους να χάνουν μία μία τις αισθήσεις τους)
και το "My Idiot Brother" με πρωταγωνιστές τους Πολ Ραντ, Ελίζαμπεθ Μπανκς, Ζόι Ντεσανέλ & Έμιλι Μόρτιμερ.

Λόγω του όγκου οι ταινίες χωρίστηκαν (πάλι..) σε κατηγορίες.
Επίσης οι περιλήψεις τους είναι στα αγγλικά ( δυστυχώς ) , εκτός λίγων εξαιρέσεων που αφορούν στο τμήμα
του φεστιβάλ "spotlight" ( ταινίες που ήδη έχουν διαγράψει αξιόλογη πορεία σε άλλα φεστιβάλ)
