HD-DVD 3ης γενιας απο την Toshiba :2thumb22sup:

Having already dropped their second HD-DVD player in the UK this week, Tosh has pulled the ceremonial cord on their third hi-def movie deck set to hit these shores. And it really is something very special.

The HD-EP10 is the spitting image of its big brother, the HD-E1, but is more akin to its other sibling, the HD-XE1, seeing as it packs a full 1080p. That’s the best format available, for those of you at the back.

What really sets it apart though is its price tag, in the region of £465. That’s a bargain, coming in at a similar figure to the HD-E1, but with so much more hi-def goodness under the hood.

It’ll also upscale all your bog-standard DVDs to boot, so your old collection gets the hi-def treatment too. It’s definitely another tempting reason to throw your lot in with the HD-DVD clan.

Get ready for the lowest cost HD DVD player yet. Should be in the shops this may.

Toshiba have announced the that they are going to release a third HD DVD for the UK market this May. The company currently has two HD DVD players on the market at the moment; the HD-E1 and top of the range HD-XE1. The new player will be the entry level model in the range costing around £450 in the shops and possibly £399 on the internet. At that price this really is the bargain HD player the market has been waiting for and it should be a big wake up call for Blu Ray manufactures to get theirfinger out and produce a cheaper Blu Ray player.

The HD-EP10 comes with the all important “full 1080p” compatibility and the ability to up scale standard DVDs. It will support all the usual formats sound formats but there is no support for 5.1 analogue audio out, unlike the HD-EX1. The formats supported are Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD and DTS HD with digital optical and stereo analogue outputs.

Look-wise it's pretty much what we have come to expect from Toshiba; a polished black metal case with a couple of subtle stainless steel touches which are back lit with blue or red LEDs.

The player is expected to hit the UK in May this year. Here are the full specifictions for the Toshiba HD-EP10:

Δεν διευκρινίζεται βεβαια εάν έχει το τσιπάκι του ΧΕ1.
Επίσης δεν θα έχει 5.1 αναλογικό.
Αξίζει άραγε η αγορά του νέου μεσαίου μοντέλου της Toshiba για όσους δεν θέλουνε να βλέπουνε SD DVDs και δεν ενδιαφέρονται για αναλογικό DD ? :chinscratch:
