Ridley Scott Confirms New Alien Movie In Development For Unfinished Trilogy
David's story may not be finished.
Ridley Scott's Alien prequel trilogy may not be done just yet.
After creating the iconic sci-fi horror franchise with 1979's Alien, Scott returned to the world of Xenomorphs with his 2012 prequel,
Prometheus. The film marked the start of what was supposed to be a trilogy revolving around the AI character David, played
by Michael Fassbender, but 2017's Alien: Covenant underperformed, stalling those plans.
Speaking with LA Times, Scott now confirms that a follow-up to Alien: Covenant is in development. According to the director,
the final installment in the trilogy would pick up the story of David as he creates a “brave new world for himself.”
Scott reveals that, nine years later, he remains fascinated by David as a character. "AIs can go off," he says. "And if they do, it's like a bomb."
