A Redditor who claimed to have a copy of the script of Star Wars: Episode VIII recently revealed how Rey is actually Darth Vader’s reincarnation. In addition, the Redditor said the title of the highly anticipated film will be Echoes of the Dark Side.
According to the post by LouEvilOne on the online sharing platform, one of the major plot twists to Episode VIII is that "Rey is the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker."
The details of the script have been posted as follows:
> Luke Skywalker takes a trip to his hiding place in Ahch-To to understand better how reincarnation is done.
> In the process, he learns that the Force reincarnates "the spirit of the chosen oneβ each time the universe gets off balance, which happens βsemi-regularly.β This explains why Rey is βcrazy powerfulβ with the Force, just as the young Anakin was shown in The Phantom Menace.
> Rey was produced via virgin birth and Luke will tell Rey at some point in Episode VIII how she is βa child of the Force."
While there were those who found the claims doubtful, there were some who felt they could be true.
Personally, I find the theory kind of far-fetched and totally different from the usual plot lines of previous Star Wars films. However, it does align with the recent statement of The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams where he claimed βRey's parents are not in Episode VII.β
It also aligns with Ridley’s comment that Jyn Erso may not be Rey’s mother.
Disney-Lucasfilm has not made any official comments on the claims, therefore it’s best to take a grain of salt in reading into this post.
