We understand you are commenting on the channel movements that are currently taking place at our 19.2 degrees East orbital position. Please accept that we are responding in English which is the language we have chosen on Facebook. The current movements are caused by a shift from traffic from ASTRA 1H to ASTRA 2C and are part of our fleet renewal at 19.2 degrees East. The fleet renewal programme will secure the long term health of our satellite fleet and reinforce our unique back-up capabilities at 19.2 degrees East. The ASTRA 19.2 degrees East orbital position provides broadcasters with excellent coverage over Western Europe, and will be maintained also throughout the fleet replacement programme. The technical spill over outside the main coverage zones from former satellites cannot be guaranteed.
By the way: Due to the unique specifications of our satellites, the coverage of each of our satellites can slightly differ outside the borders of Western Europe. This also leads to the fact that some of the channels that are moving satellites are now available in a larger audience in Europe.
Kind regards,
Your SES-team
