12 Monkeys - Ordered to Series at Syfy

NEW YORK – April 4, 2014 – Syfy is giving a series greenlight to 12 Monkeys, a drama based on the 1995 Universal Pictures film directed by Terry Gilliam, it was announced today by Syfy President, Dave Howe. Syfy is ordering 12 episodes in addition to the pilot which was filmed last year. The series is produced by Universal Cable Productions and Atlas Entertainment, producer of the original theatrical.

Said Dave Howe, “‛12 Monkeys’ is a captivating time travel adventure and high stakes race against the clock. We are thrilled to add it to our slate of engaging and thought-provoking new scripted projects including the recently announced event series ‛Ascension’ and the second season renewal of ‛Helix’ from Ron Moore.”

12 Monkeys, starring Aaron Stanford (Nikita, X-Men: The Last Stand, X2), Amanda Schull (Suits, Pretty Little Liars), Noah Bean (Nikita, Damages) and Kirk Acevedo (Fringe), follows the journey of a time traveler (Stanford) from the post-apocalyptic future who appears in present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race.

Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven (American Hustle, Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Trilogy) and Richard Suckle (American Hustle, The International), will Executive Produce. Roven produced the original film. Jake Kurily will serve as Atlas’s executive on the series. Terry Matalas & Travis Fickett (Nikita), writers of the pilot, will serve as Co-Executive Producers with Natalie Chaidez (In Plain Sight, V, Heroes) as Executive Producer/Showrunner. Jeffrey Reiner (Friday Night Lights) directed and served as Executive Producer on the pilot.

The drama is slated to premiere in January of 2015.

NEW YORK – April 7, 2014 – Syfy, Reunion Pictures and Great Point Media today announced a new mythological drama series Olympus, which will take viewers into the action-packed world of humans, Gods and monsters.

The 13-part series of one hour episodes will premiere on Syfy in 2015.

The team behind Olympus includes writer Nick Willing (Tinman, Alice, Neverland) and legendary executive producer Robert Halmi Sr. (Mr. and Mrs. Bridge, The Odyssey, Gulliver’s Travels).

Olympus will tell the story of how a few brave men and women banished the Gods to the realm of the unconscious - a place they called the Underworld or the Kingdom of Hades. The series will follow the protagonist on his journey as he gradually transforms from a fresh-faced and raw young man through the dramatic experiences of betrayal, love, disappointment, empowerment and exile, until he emerges a ruthless leader of men, and a match for the Gods themselves.

The series is being produced by Reunion Pictures and Olympus TV (London) Limited in association with Great Point Media, and will begin production this summer in Vancouver and London, with the first episode written and directed by Willing. Executive Producers are Robert Halmi Sr. for The Halmi Company, Robert Halmi Jr. and Jim Reeve for Great Point Media and Matthew O’Connor and Lisa Richardson for Reunion Pictures. The series is being marketed and distributed by Content Media Group outside the US, Germany and Canada.

“Olympus is a fantastic blend of action, intense thrills, creatures and great story telling. It will feature characters from mythology in a way never before imagined,” said Chris Regina, Senior Vice President, Programming, Syfy. “It’s an excellent complement to our roster of programming and we can’t wait to share the adventures of Hero with the Syfy audience.”

NEW YORK, NY – April 8, 2014 – The Weinstein Company announced today that production is underway on “MARCO POLO,” a Netflix original series based on the epic adventures of Marco Polo. Shoot locations for the ten episode first season include Italy, Kazakhstan and the new Pinewood Studios in Malaysia. Netflix plans to premiere the series in late 2014.

The famed explorer’s journey takes him to the center of a brutal war in 13th century China, a world replete with exotic martial arts, political skullduggery, spectacular battles and sexual intrigue. The global cast includes Lorenzo Richelmy (IL TERZO TEMPO) as Marco Polo, Benedict Wong (PROMETHEUS), Zhu Zhu (CLOUD ATLAS), Tom Wu (SKYFALL), Remy Hii (TREADING WATER) and Rick Yune (OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS).

Creator John Fusco (FORBIDDEN KINGDOM, YOUNG GUNS, HIDALGO) and Harvey Weinstein will serve as executive producers. Dan Minahan (GAME OF THRONES, True Blood) will also serve as executive producer and will direct two episodes. Apparently, Paramount Pictures agrees and has initiated development on a Truman Show TV series.

To be clear, the TV series will be a fictional story based on Andrew Niccol’s story about a man unknowingly living his life as part of a semi-scripted reality TV show – not a Truman Show branded reality experiment. No doubt, a real-life Truman Show would be a smash success in our celebrity-obsessed world, but a reimagining of the film setup is also rife with potential – assuming Paramount finds the right filmmakers (and network) to turn the clever movie concept into a serialized TV series.

Trailer for the NBC miniseries 'ROSEMARY'S BABY' starring Zoe Saldana and Patrick J. Adams.

Based on the 1967 best-selling suspense novel by Ira Levin, this new adaptation of "Rosemary's Baby" centers on a young married couple who escapes New York and moves to Paris with hopes of leaving their sad past behind. After a series of unfortunate events, Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse are presented with an offer they can't refuse - an apartment at the most prestigious address in the city. Problem is, it comes with a haunted past and an immeasurable price.

Rosemary (Zoe Saldana, "Avatar," "Star Trek Into Darkness") and Guy (Patrick J. Adams, "Suits") are incredulous at their good fortune and find comfort in a strange city among their new friends and neighbors, the Castevets. This well-to-do successful older couple takes the newcomers under their wing and become very involved with the Woodhouses' lives. Things seem to be perfect as Rosemary becomes pregnant and Guy's career takes off. As their spirited best friend, Guy's co-worker Julie (Christina Cole), spends quality time with Rosemary in the city, she finds Rosemary's health worrying and cautions both of them that something isn't right. Soon there are other signs warning Rosemary to be careful.

Guy seems to be pulling away from Rosemary and spending a great deal of time hanging around with Roman Castevet (Jason Isaacs, "Harry Potter" franchise). Roman's wife, the whimsical Margaux Castevet (Carole Bouquet, "For Your Eyes Only"), assures Rosemary her herbs and holistic medicine will help with the pregnancy, but are they helping or hurting? Rosemary's quizzical nature leads her to investigate the building and its past residents. She uncovers a dark past and realizes who Roman Castevet truly is. But is it too late? Are the Castavets' perceived sinister motives legitimate or all in the pregnancy brain of Rosemary?

In this new four-hour, two-part psychological thriller written by Scott Abbott ("Queen of the Damned,") and James Wong ("Final Destination 3," "American Horror Story," "The X-Files") and directed by Agnieszka Holland ("Europa Europa," "The Wire," "Treme"), Rosemary quickly finds herself surrounded by peculiar people and startling occurrences. Isolated in her apartment in a city where she doesn't speak the language, she begins to fear the worst: Guy may have made a pact with their neighbors, promising their newborn as a human sacrifice in occult rituals in exchange for a writing career. To what lengths would someone be willing to go for success and fortune?

Starz Takes Two Seasons of Blunt Talk, Starring Patrick Stewart!

Starz today announced a two-season, 20-episode greenlight of "Blunt Talk," a half-hour scripted comedy series from Media Rights Capital.
The project, from Seth MacFarlane ("Family Guy," Ted) and Jonathan Ames ("Bored to Death"), was picked up straight to series with 20 episodes over two seasons, set to air in 2015.

"Blunt Talk" is a character-driven comedy revolving around Walter Blunt (Stewart), a British import intent on conquering the world of American cable news.
Through the platform of his nightly interview show, Blunt is on a mission to impart his wisdom and guidance on how Americans should live, think and behave.
Besieged by network bosses, a dysfunctional news staff, numerous ex-wives and children of all ages, Blunt's only support is the alcoholic manservant he transplanted from the U.K. to join him in Los Angeles.
The series follows the fallout from Blunt’s well-intentioned, but mostly misguided decision-making, both on and off the air.

will star in the channel’s new original, six hour event series Ascension.

Helfer will play the beautiful, manipulative and dangerous “Viondra Denniger.” Viondra regards herself as a not-so-secret power broker aboard the Ascension. As the Captain’s wife, Viondra is afforded a position of power and privilege, which she leverages as the Ship’s Chief Steward.

Εξαιρετική η σελίδα σου φίλε μου. Δυο παρατηρήσεις.
α) Το background με τις φωτογραφίες-ποστερ από τα σόου, είναι too much και το μόνο που κάνει είναι να αποσπά την προσοχή από την σελίδα. Το απλό γκρι φόντο που έχεις είναι χίλιες φορές καλύτερο (είναι σαν να δολοφονείς την προσπάθεια σου)
β) Κάποιο rss feed θα βοηθούσε πολύ.

Halo Series May Head to Showtime

The Steven Spielberg-produced, small-screen take on the world of "Halo" appears to have found a home at Showtime. Variety reports that the network is close to a deal for the adaptation of the hit video game franchise.

Rumored for years and officially announced last week, the project is officially described as follow:
The "Halo" television series is a groundbreaking original series based on the award-winning "Halo" franchise. Award-winning filmmaker, director and producer Steven Spielberg will executive produce the live-action TV series, created in partnership with 343 Industries and Amblin Television.

This "Halo" series is moving forward simultaneously with the Ridley Scott-produced project, described as a "digital feature." It is set to be helmed by TV director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan with "Prison Break" creator Paul Scheuring providing the script.

Και εγώ είχα δει την πρώτη και 1-2 από την δεύτερη. Δεν άντεξα να την συνεχίσω , μιλάμε για décadence...

Μας κόβουν καλές σειρές και συνεχίζονται τόσες "μούφες".
