JVC lays off staff, promises new D-ILA tech
JVC’s newly appointed president has begun his reign by laying off nearly 30 per cent of his workforce. Kunihiko Sato says that as part of a restructuring plan, 1,800 jobs will be cut in Japan. Going forward, JVC will also concentrate on LCD TV and D-ILA screen products. Sato hinted that a next generation D-ILA light engine will be deployed in upcoming products. The tech is likely to make its debut at the Tokyo Ceatec show in October.
