Pink Floyd: Complete 16 Stereo CD "Oh By The Way" Box Set.
Never a Limited Edition. Made in China. Poor Quality Condition.
By now everyone has seen listings for the box set that sells for between $200 and $300. And no doubt many have seen and perhaps bought the $100 (including shipping) version. $100 for the China knock-off seems about correct if you also like impressing your friends with a fake Rolex that you bought in Hong Kong. Or if you are some sort of Pink Floyd completist collector who has to have everything including junk like this and all the Pink Floyd knock-offs made in Russia. Or if you think copyright violations by the Chinese are merely an accepted fact of life that we can do nothing about and thus should support by buying this sort of rubbish. If you feel that $10,000 is a ridiculous price for this item, then consider also the ridiculousness of paying $100 for a pirated knock-off where neither EMI nor Pink Floyd receive any royalties.
The photo shows a counterfeit box set made in China. Although it is difficult to tell the difference from the outside other than the bubbling of the paper off the cardboard on the outer box, once inside it is easy to see the shoddy manufacturing, poor paper quality, and the second rate printing and color. Other ways to tell a counterfeit are by price (too inexpensive compared to the legit box set), location (if located in China or Hong Kong for certain item is a fake, although some sellers of fakes can be in USA, UK, or elsewhere other than Japan), or by the seller feedback (very low number or those nagging negative feedback given by buyers who realized upon receipt of the item that it is bogus).
