Blackmagic Camera for iOS 3.5 is now available, adding support for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, including control of the variable aperture on the 48MP fusion main camera.
This means you can adjust the aperture directly in Blackmagic Camera to control depth of field and exposure, as well as settings such as shutter angle, ISO and white balance. Having this direct control allows you to open the aperture, creating a shallower depth of field to help isolate your subject from the background, or close it down to keep more of the scene in focus.
In addition, Blackmagic Camera now supports recording Apple ProRes using pro video storage, giving you another option for capturing high quality files directly on your iPhone.
