A new telescope called MOTHRA (Modular Optical Telephoto Hyperspectral Robotic Array) looks less like an observatory and more like a photography gearhead’s fever dream.

Canon can't get new PowerShots out fast enough, their compact camera business grew 50% on the back of 8 year old cameras like the PowerShot G7 X Mark III. Canon is going to have a big focus on this segment going forward. Unsurprisingly, a lot of this is being driven by younger and first time buyers of a Canon camera.

All is not rosy for compact cameras. Canon says there are still component shortages affecting unit production. AI datacenters aren't just hammering storage and DRAM capacity, there is also high demand for circuit boards, which has a big impact on camera production
