Dolby Vision: Not all Displays are Created EqualMany don't know, but there are multiple forms of Dolby Vision. In this video we are going to talk about Dolby Vision and Dolby Vision (low latency). We will discuss how having different types of displays can cause havoc when installing a multi-zoned distributed video system.

Commentaires:
Ross Unwinso
does this mean that a full Dolby vision signal would produce a better picture than the new Dolby vision(Low latency)? i've heard that the sony tv's only support Dolby vision (low latency) so does that mean i would get a better picture on another tv like LG for arguments sake over Sony then?

AVPro
It's hard to say. When I see Dolby Vision, and then I see Dolby Vision (LL) I can not tell a difference. I think the only real diffenence is where the Dolby Vision data is decoded. Dolby Vision (LL) is decoded by the source, Dolby Vision is decoded by the television. If you were going to do some sort of pixel to pixel comparison, you may find a slightly "better" picture with Dolby Vision, but I can tell you they both look AMAZING!

Re: Αρθρο για τις 4K τηλεοράσεις

Ian Lowe from Dolby explains what Dolby Vision is, how it works and why you need it on your next TV.

This interview was filmed in the Dolby grading suite at their London HQ in Soho Square during a Philips hosted event.
We apologise for the focus being slightly out in this interview footage.

Πέρυσι, το "Alita - Angel of the Battle" ήταν ο πρώτος δίσκος που κυκλοφόρησε σε διπλή μορφή, HDR10 + και Dolby Vision.

Το "Ad Astra" ήρθε σε ροή με HDR στα Dolby Vision και Dolby Atmos.

Η τάση δεν έχει αλλάξει μετά τη μετάβαση από το 20th Century Fox στα 20th Century Studios, όπως έχει δείξει το "The Call of the Forest" (πάντα Dolby Vision και Dolby Atmos).

We analysed the 4K Blu-ray disc of Blade Runner 2049 using the HDR analysis tool on a Canon DP-V3120 reference broadcast monitor, and concluded that almost the entire show is below 200 nits in peak brightness.

We also used two LG 48-inch CX OLED TVs to demonstrate that the 4K HDR Blu-ray presentation looked visually similar to the 1080p SDR presentation (once the display was calibrated to a peak white of 203 nits in alignment with ITU BT.2408's diffuse white value), yet the HDR display would consume more power, and have less calibration wiggle room... just to produce a similar picture to SDR.

We ran the newly released Mulan (2020) movie on Disney+ through an Apple TV box to be analysed on the Canon DP-V3120 reference broadcast monitor, and were genuinely impressed with the HDR presentation and WCG use.

We have tried to make this video as spoiler-free as possible, using only inane shots and stills.

We analyse the HDR & WCG presentation on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, using the award-winning HDR toolkit on the Canon DP-V3120 professional reference monitor.

With a peak brightness below 250 nits across the entire movie... is it creative intent or fake HDR?

Warning: This video contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

We analyse the 4K Blu-ray of Alita: Battle Angel using the award-winning HDR toolkit on a Canon DP-V3120 4K HDR reference monitor, and found the HDR10 presentation and WCG (wide colour gamut) use to be underwhelming. There's also rogue static metadata which may prevent accurate display tone-mapping.

Warning: This video contains spoilers for Alita: Battle Angel.

We review the 4K Blu-ray disc of The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers in the Trilogy boxset, and found many instances of digital noise reduction (DNR) and edge enhancement (EE) despite great use of HDR (occasionally even exceeding 2000 nits), as well as more generous deployment of WCG (wide colour gamut) colours than in The Fellowship of The Ring.

Our HDR & WCG analysis was performed using the Canon DP-V2411 reference monitor with inbuilt HDR analysis toolkit.

This video was graded and uploaded in HDR10, and so is best viewed on an HDR display.

We demonstrate why a high peak brightness is important for an OLED TV to accurately reproduce the creator's intent by preserving more specular highlight detail, in response to some Youtube comments saying that "OLED TV is already bright enough, so you don't need more brightness" from the likes of the LG G1 Evo OLED or the Sony A90J Master Series OLED.

This video demonstration was done using two LG CX, one calibrated to 400 nits peak brightness in HDR, the other to its natural maximum peak brightness of 650 nits in HDR.

We keep hearing people claiming that their OLED or QLED TV is already too bright, and that they'll need to wear sunglasses to watch HDR content.
So we took some brightness measurements of random objects in real life, on a semi-sunny day in Manchester where it's not so bright that we felt compelled to wear sunglasses.
