Today we released Blackmagic Camera 7.3 update, which adds built in LCD calibration, giving you the ability to adjust the color temperature of your screen in the setup menu for greater confidence when monitoring on set with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, 6K and 6K Pro models. This update also adds support for an upgraded RGB histogram and color channel clipping indicators to these models, giving you even greater accuracy in reading color channels so adjustments and corrections can be made while shooting. A false color guide display is now also available, enabling monitoring of consistent exposure and brightness throughout scenes on set for faster and easier color correction in post production. Plus, there’s improved auto focus, active lens control and added support for timecode via XLR mic inputs for syncing cameras on multi camera shoots.
The new update also adds support for generation 5 color science to Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K models, giving you the ability to capture more color data in the highlights and shadows for better looking images. LCD screen dimming in these same models has also been added, which preserves the camera’s battery life when the LCD is not in use. Additionally, when you’re working on effects heavy feature film and commercial projects and need the highest quality possible, Blackmagic RAW Q1 and Q3 constant quality recording options are now available.
