Βρετανός έμπορος μιλάει στο αγγλικό φόρουμ για προβολείς:

Well we’ve had a good two to three hours with the 4K Sony thank’s to our Rep and the Sony is most certainly in a different league with resolution to the JVC X70r. Playing the same footage and cinema electronics as I did on Monday. The Sony has so much extra detail in the image it was a real surprises.

Because I was running the same format as I did on Monday with the Panasonic PT-AT5000, Themescene HD83, Epson EH-TW9000 and the JVC X70r I was able to see parts in a Standard D movie, which I have not seen on any other projector thus far, reproduce.

So the start of the demo was truly amazing and saying that it really did look like a HD Blu-ray movie was not far from the truth. The Sony with Lord of the Rings (fellow ship of the ring) was about 96% HD and I would guess that anybody who had just come when it was playing would easily have been fooled.

Therefore, I thought I’d give it a harder challenge with a DVD that has far less lines than a VHS tape and again the Sony was amazing. You could tell the footage was poor, but compared to other projectors the image was on a par with sub standard DVD. Take into account that the resolution factor of the Sony together with the lack of information DVD and the upscaling ability was a revelation.

Having seen how it had performed with DVD, you just new it was going to good and it didn’t disappoint. Dark Night and the blu-ray cut of A New Hope had so much more in the image, Somehow even with all the scaling Sony was able to decipher filmic noise and actual noise which we don’t want to a level which only the very best projectors seem to offer.

It was a shame that we didn’t have any true 4K footage to see how good the Sony VPL-VW1000ES really is but I will say going on what I have seen, if you get the opportunity to see this projector in action then it is a must.

How much better is 4K when upscaling dvd’s and blu-ray compared the JVC X70r I would say about twice as good in the real World. The JVC did have some qualities over that of the pre-product Sony 4K projector and JVC’s X70r black levels shone through in our room. The JVC X70r has the Sony projector here without a doubt, but like wise the Sony has the JVC licked with image detail.

Is 4k hear to stay. I feel this is the start of something very exciting and we’ll have to wait a while for the 4K to develop a true standard. Because of this, the Sony has the ability to play all 3 standards, which are currently being used with great effect.

Now my only other though is can it match the Sim2 3Ds “my favourite projector” on resolution and performance. I feel that for everything this amazing new Sony projector can offer is truly stunning. But, comparing VPl-VW1000ES to the 3Ds is like comparing a van gogh against a Lowry. Both are exceptional in their own rights, but the Van Gogh has something, which the Lowry will never be able to muster and that is so hard to quantfy. In our Demo room the Sim2 just has something that the Sony could not deliver. And if you’re ever lucky enough to see both projectors in the same environment, you will understand exactly what I’m saying.

Regards, Shane.
