Our settings and measures
We set the Sony Bravia XR-75Z9J to Expert mode then we lowered the brightness to 7 in order to obtain a white close to 150 cd / m².
Regarding the MotionFlow motion compensation engine, Expert mode allows you to limit motion blur while maintaining the 24 fps frame rate of the cinema.
The Clarity 1 mode activates the Xmotion Flow Clarity (the system for inserting black images by zone).
Finally, do not forget to unblock the HDMI ports (Settings> Watching TV> External inputs> HDMI signal format> Improved format).

Sony has launched a new "Perfect for PS5" campaign to promote its BRAVIA XR televisions, featuring two PS5-exclusive features, namely "Auto HDR Tone Mapping" & "Auto Genre Picture Mode".

"Auto HDR Tone Mapping" refers to automatic HGiG parameter population through identification of the TV model number through EDID.

"Auto Genre Picture Mode" is PS5's version of automatic game mode switching.

Besides the BRAVIA XR TVs (X90J, X95J, A80J, A90J, Z9J), the X80J, X85J and last year's XH90 or X900H are also getting the new features following a software update on both the PS5 console and the TVs.

The PS5 is adding a new feature called "Auto HDR Tone Mapping" which will identify certain Sony TV models, then automatically retrieve the correct HGiG parameters from database.
Think of it as automatic HGiG calibration, but only for Sony BRAVIA XR TVs.

The PS5 will automatically recognize individual BRAVIA XR TV models and select the best HDR setting for the TV accordingly.
With the optimized HDR tone mapping level to customers' BRAVIA display specification, they'll see crucial details and colors even in high contrast scenes. For instance, users will get the addition of detailed objects on the track in Gran Turismo so they know just how to make their next move.

Auto Genre Picture Mode: BRAVIA XR TVs can detect whether users are playing a game or watching movies and shows. With Auto Genre Picture Mode, the TV automatically switches into Game Mode when gaming, which minimizes input lag to make the action more responsive, or to Standard Mode when watching movies via a streaming service or from an Ultra HD Blu-ray™ disc on the PS5, which shifts focus to picture processing for a more expressive picture.

Software updates, available by the end of January 2022, on both PS5 and BRAVIA XR TVs are required to access Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.

During the test, the TV was running software version 10007, it was produced in August 2021.

The TV is not an original Sony product, but was designed and manufactured by TPV (Philips).

ANSI contrast ratio was... 646:1, which is a very poor result (well, IPS panel)
UHDA-P3 (CIExy) space coverage was 75%

Recommended settings : movie mode (6665K).
It is worth noting that any attempt to change the options in any mode automatically throws us into user mode . This is a typical feature of Chinese TVs, not Bravia.

HDR
In the 10% board mode, the maximum luminance was 243nits, which is a very low result.

If we associate all this with the lack of not only a wide, but even an extended palette of colors, it will mean that, contrary to the manufacturer's declarations, the TV is simply not suitable for HDR content. Anyway, in this price class it is difficult to expect anything else.
