G9 Firmware Version 2.4
– Tracking and recognition performance of AF have been improved with an addition of head recognition.
– Human/Animal recognition can be set ON or OFF when the AF mode is set to [1-Area].
– It is possible to play back vertical videos vertically. – Users can choose to add or not to add camera orientation information in [Vertical Position Info (Video)]
menu to prevent unintended image rotation in playback.

Wow that is so different now. Point the viewfinder at the bird and immediately the bird is in focus/yellow box in your viewfinder. Providing the bird is in the frame the box will find it. Press the shutter and it changes to a green box and you have your bird. As the bird moves the box moves with it. This is even functioning at a distance beyond which I can get an OK picture.
Two people in wetsuits coming out of the water 200 yards away. Same as with the bird, by the time you have the subjects in your viewfinder, they are already in the yellow box. Press the shutter and take the shot. As they move a bit closer, not only does the box follow them but a smaller box appears around one of the subjects head increasing the focus accuracy.
Congrats Panasonic, this truly is an impressive upgrade>>.

Και ένα συγκριτικό με την Canon R3, όπου δείχνουν περίπου ισάξιες με κάποιες μικροδιαφορές - η G9 πιο γρήγορη, η R3 με πιό ομαλή συμπεριφορά.

Κώστα , τι σε χάλασε στην G9 όσο τη είχες;
Και τι ελλείψεις θεωρείς είχε σε σχέση πχ με την EM ii/iii ?

Ελάχιστα πράγματα φωτογραφικα με <χάλασαν> Γιάννη,
στην πράξη είχα δυο ισοδύναμες μηχανές (τοτε είχα την ΕΜ1.2) με τα συν τους και τα πλην τους. Και επειδή και οι δυο ήταν ακριβές μηχανές έπρεπε να δώσω την μια.
Και κράτησα με δυσκολία ανάμεσα στις δυο την ΕΜ1.2 γιατί είχα ακόμη ακριβούς και καλούς φακούς στα 4/3 (legacy) που υποχρεωτικά ήθελαν PDAF σωμα
Στην αρχή με δυσκόλεψε το οτΙ είχε μεγαλυτερο γκριπ αλλα το συνήθισα σε 1-2 βδομαδες. Η G9 σε σχέση με την ΕΜ1.2 είχε πιστευω ακόμη καλύτερη εργονομία, καλύτερο μενού με mymenu , είχε σε καίρια θέση trackpad, καλή ανάλυση στην πίσω LCD, εξαιρετικό σκόπευτρο για τα λ7 της (ήταν λίγο πιο αργό σε ταχύτητα οταν επεφτε το φως) , νομίζω είχε και πανόραμα, φόρτιση από USB θύρα και top LCD που μου έλειψε όταν την εδωσα. Η σταθεροποιηση της ήταν κορυφαία οτι καλυτερο σε Panasonic.
Menu , trackpad, Usb φόρτιση μπήκαν στην ΕΜ1.3 , 3 χρόνια μετά την ΕΜ1.2.
το αρχείο της hires σε τρίποδο ήταν εξαιρετικο , καλυτερο της ΕΜ1.2 και έριξε στα αυτιά και στην S1 που είχαμε κάνει συγκριτικό τεστ στο Γουδί. Μάλιστα είδα στην πορεία ψιλό καθάριζε εξυπνα έως ένα βαθμό καΙ τα κινούμένα αντικείμενα σε hires αρχείο.
Η εστίαση της σε SAF ήταν πύραυλος , στο CAF για φωτό για σύνηθες κινούμενο θέμα ήταν ικανοποιητική, δεν θα είχα κανενα πρόβλημα να την κρατήσω .
Υστερούσε σε γρήγορες ριπές με παρακολούθηση στο θέμα αλλά η χαμηλή ριπή της με συνεχή εκθεση / εστίαση ήταν ικανοποιητικη. Είχε βέβαια εναλλακτικά και το 6Κphoto που έπαιρνες αρχείο από καρέ λίγο χαμηλοτερης ανάλυσης.
Δυστυχώς την έδωσα πολύ πριν βγει το firmware v2.4 που της έδωσε Bird eye και έκανε το βίντεο της εφαμιλο σχεδόν της GH5 (λίγο πιο πάνω εδώ βλέπεις βελτιώσεις απο τη v 2.4)
Ένα μείον της για εμένα ήταν οτι τα 2 flash μου που ήταν Olympus δεν δούλευαν σωστά με ριπες (ήθελε ενα ακριβό φλας της Panasonic που ήταν συμβατό για ριπή )
στην πράξη είχα δυο ισοδύναμες μηχανές (τοτε είχα την ΕΜ1.2) με τα συν τους και τα πλην τους. Και επειδή και οι δυο ήταν ακριβές μηχανές έπρεπε να δώσω την μια.

Θα ήθελα να τη δοκιμάσω τώρα που τη βρίσκεις φτηνά, αλλά φοβάμαι πάλι τα θέματα με τους Olympus φακούς.

Δεν είχα κάποιο σοβαρό πρόβλημα με τους φακούς μου Olympus (με εξαιρεση τους 4/3), αν πας για φθηνό και VFM τηλεφακό κοιτάς τον Lumix 100-300ΙΙ που έχει γρηγορότερο μοτέρ από τον παλιό , στεγανοποίηση , IS και δουλεύει συνδιαστικα με την G9. Yπαρχει και ο καλύτερος LEICA 100-400 αλλά στα διπλά λ7
