Eπισημη ανακοινωση του CVP για τις συνεπειες του BREXIT
EU CUSTOMERS AND BREXIT
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR EU CUSTOMERS FROM CVP
CVP remains open for international trade. We value our customers, strive to maintain our partnerships and continue providing the excellent levels of expertise, customer service and value that you’re used to.
Due to changes in international shipping charges, all orders being delivered internationally or to an address in Europe (excluding UK) placed from 1st January 2021 will be subject to local taxes and duties.
We have appointed an internal taskforce to scrutinise developments and share knowledge and best practices. The team will continue to monitor and review all strategic, operational and commercial aspects of the Brexit changes and its impact on ours and your business.
We are developing a simple web tool which will allow you to calculate what duties - if any - and which taxes will be applicable to your purchase. This will enable you to make an informed choice; whether to pay all costs (e.g. including products, shipping, duties and local VAT) upfront (e.g. using Delivered Duty Paid - DDP) or just pay for your goods and shipping through CVP and pick up the additional costs (e.g. duties and taxes) yourself. More information on the web tool will be available soon.
In the meantime, to minimise errors, we will ship your order on a Delivered at Place (DAP) basis whereby your costs with CVP include the products and shipping and the responsibility to pay any import duties and local VAT remain with you.
We hope to have the calculator tool ready soon to make this process as easy as possible, however if you want to speak to one of our team to help you understand if any duties will be applicable, or assist with any questions or concerns, please call 0208 380 7400 or talk to one of our experts on our live chat.
FAQS
I thought that the UK had a FTA with the EU – why might we still have to pay import duties?
For goods manufactured in the UK (or EU) there’s no import duty when buying them in the EU. CVP source and supply the best broadcast and cinematography products from around the World and when we send goods to the EU from the UK now import duties may still apply depending upon the Country of Origin of the goods. For example a broadcast camera manufactured outside the UK (or EU) would typically attract 0.8% duty, a broadcast camera accessory 1.1% and a lens could be up to 6.7%.
How come we have to pay VAT locally now?
When we were in the EU we could ship your orders to you UK (EU) duty paid, we will now ship all orders ex-VAT and this will be applied locally (our online tool will allow you to calculate and include these charges going forward if you’d prefer).
So am I paying more for my items by buying from CVP in the UK?
In most instances you won’t be, the UK government has reduced UK import duty on most items/categories that we sell. We will be passing on any savings to our customers, so even though our exports to the EU may incur tariffs/duties you’ll still be paying less.
How do I find out what the import duties could be?
Once we have the online calculator up and running, you’ll be able to do this quickly and simply at cvp.com. In the meantime you may want to speak to one of our team (0208 380 7400). Duties are only applicable on goods whose origin is outside the UK or EU.
DUTIES & TAXES
Duty, VAT and other relevant Taxes may apply in accordance with the laws and import regulations of your destination country (e.g. where we are shipping your goods to).
These fees are typically based on destination, item type/classification, and country of origin, manufacture or assembly.
If you choose to pay/handle these charges yourself you will pay CVP for the cost of goods and shipping to your destination only and will be charged separately for any import duties, VAT etc (this is the default position whilst we develop our online tool). If you choose to have CVP handle this payment for you we’ll work out any pre-pay the import duties, VAT etc for you and there’ll be no additional charges or fees due upon delivery.
