Re: Sony A6000 (Ο αντικαταστάτης της NEX6)
As for the A6000, I feel the AF-C performance is unquestionably at the entry- to mid-level DSLR performance ability as far as tracking fore-aft movement coming at the camera, and is actually better than most entry to mid-DSLRs due to the ability to track through nearly 100% of the frame with the extensive focus point coverage. When I first picked up the A6000, I knew it was good, but I generally stayed safe in my assessment, calling it roughly 'as good' as my DSLR in most situations, but maybe the DSLR still had an edge. But after getting more familiar with the A6000, and getting better lenses for it, I've come to learn it's in most ways better - it acquires faster, especially quick unplanned shots (I often whip the camera up to my eye and fire a frame in about 1 second at a bird I caught in my peripheral vision and catch it in focus, which my DSLR cannot)...and it's actually a little easier to pan with the bird while continuously focusing because there's less need to keep the center cluster of focus points on target - as long as I can keep the bird anywhere in the frame, the A6000 will keep focus on the subject. And of course, the frame rate is excellent - I don't bother with 11fps as it's simply unnecessary to me - too many frames to dig through - 6fps is perfect and extremely accurate and reliable.
I think only really dedicated action DSLRs, higher-end ones that cost much more (7DII, D750, 5DIII), are better for action and birds in flight - and mostly due to the extensive focus controls and fine-tuning options they have, better ability in extreme low light situations, along with big buffers and battery life and better ergonomics with big lenses. Anything in the entry to mid-level I think the A6000 can match, or exceed, just fine.
Hit rate as far as focus accuracy is quite good - I'd say in a day of shooting wildlife and birds, probably runs around 65-70% total - with the missed shots often being not 'missed' focus on the camera but missed framing on my part (cut off wings), too low a shutter speed on occasion, or something interrupting the frame like a tree branch or leaves. Of those, I'll usually go through a batch and end up with 15-20% that I'll keep, and delete the rest. The rest I delete are usually duplicate shots where I took several to make sure I got the action, or I'll pick one flight shot out of a sequence of 7-10 as the one I'll keep - the others may all have accurate focus, but I only need one shot.
